Full job description
Technology associates ec inc offers a wide variety of communications services to its clients, including wireless telecommunications deployment and professional services consisting of structural engineering, site acquisition, architecture and engineering designs, and construction project managementAs part of our utah engineering team, the selected candidate for this position will engineer tower and compound site locations, as well as other commercial and residential structures.
Qualifications:
B.sIn civil engineering with emphasis on structures; m.sPreferred
0-3 years’ experience in structural engineering; experience with wireless telecommunications or broadcast towers preferred
Eit certification required; professional engineer license preferred
Ability to telecommute
1 year of project management experience preferred
Working knowledge of autocad 2014 or newer
Working knowledge of structural engineering and analysis software, e.gRisa-3d, mathcad, enercalc, tnxtower, lpile, etc.
Ability to manage multiple projects
Understanding of clients’ network and equipment
Knowledge of engineering design principles with various materials such as steel, concrete, wood, and masonry and applicable design guides and standards
Knowledge of telecommunications industry and wireless technology trends
Knowledge of construction practices and principles
Ability to understand structural engineering concepts
Intermediate microsoft office skills
Professional written and verbal communication skills
Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
Customer service skills and/or strong interpersonal skills
Ability to travel within the u.sUp to 20%
Possess a valid driver’s license and meet the company`s insurance carrier`s criteria for coverage under the company`s insurance policy
Responsibilities:
Engineer new tower and compound locations
Perform structural analysis of communication towers, poles, and antenna mounts and prepare analysis reports to document the analysis results to the client
Perform site visits and prepare field reports to document existing site conditions
Adhere to all federal, state, local, and company safety requirements
Perform calculations for design of new structures or upgrading/retrofitting existing structures
Assist with preparation of structural engineering drawings using autocad for wireless site builds and upgrades to existing structures
Read and interpret structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and design requirements; primarily related to telecommunication applications
Communicate clearly with clients and company employees as to daily tasks performed both on the client site and in the office
Write proposals
Domestic travel as required
Perform other duties as required and assigned
