Electronic file transfer utility ( eftu ) and secure data transport (sdt) system analyst
Responsible for operations and maintenance, monitoring and problem resolution support, of the application and products on the 1000+ mainframes and servers impacted by eftu and sdt across the irs it enterprise

The journeyman electronic file transfer utility ( eftu ) and secure data transport (sdt) system analyst support the enterprise computing center division and scheduling of production processing and the file transfer needs

The sys analyst will perform work to ensure timely submission of data and daily processing requirements for internal and external stakeholdersElectronic file transfer utility (eftu) and secure data transport (sdt) applications support includes, but is not limited to the following: operations and maintenance support, monitoring and problem resolution support, processing, troubleshooting, monitoring, testing, exercise planning, and alternate site moves associated with eftu and sdt, filing season readiness support and updates, support of pre-production, production and
Disaster recovery environmentsThe sys admin shall work troubles generated within the kisam ticketing system to resolution and participate in service restoration assessment callsThe sys admin shall participate in application configuration modifications and scheduled maintenance windowsWork includes, but is not limited to being part of a team that provides 24x7 server product and application support, o&m support, monitoring, upgrading, filing season readiness updates, triage of knowledge, incident/problem, service asset manager (kisam) tickets, troubleshooting, resolution support and production and alternate site production environment (aspe)) across the irs it enterprise during core and/or non-core working hours
Provide technical applications support of the pre-production, production and alternate site processing environments (aspe) formerly known as disaster recovery environments that are customers of eftu.
Plan for efficient, high performance interfaces between the sadi project and other irs required systems.
Comply with the irs infrastructure, maintaining compliance with irs standards and processes including internal revenue manual (irm), project requirements, as well as irs security and privacy policies.
Work during core and/or non-core working hours on tier 2 servers on all environments (development, test, pre-production, production, and alternate site production environment) across the irs it enterprise that includes, but is not limited to:
Incident management support
Server and application support
Maintenance management of server assets
Systems and applications triage through use of eftu gui, knowledge incident/problem
Service and asset management (kisam)
Monitor, maintain and provide support of eftu and sdt, the applications and servers requiring file transfers, as well as support all projects maintained by the operations scheduling branch in the file transfer section, but not limited to:
Change management support
Incident management support
Systems and applications triage through use of enterprise authoritative configuration management database repository, knowledge incident/problem service and asset management (kisam)
Provide planning for aspe activities, filing season readiness and processing
Perform activities which includes:
Participate in working sessions through ocs, live meeting, saba, microsoft lync, skype or any online group collaborative tools available
Activities involved in developing and maintaining: • policies • plans • procedures • processes • schedules • guidance material • standards
Assign, prioritize, resolve, and close kisam incident management (im) tickets
Analyze the application and/or screen problem for clarity before coding or taking corrective action.
Ensure every fix is tested and 100% defect free before deploying back into the production environment
Attend service restoration team (srt) and staff meetings in regard to p1/p2 outage, updating management periodically in accordance with outage reporting requirements.
Adhere to the closure requirements in accordance with kisam processing methodology to ensure tickets are closed accurately and timely
Ensure every fix is tested and 100% defect free before deploying back into the
Ensure application and screen documentation is accurate, error- free and updated.
Within each identified p1 and p2 outage, the contractor assigned to the ticket shall
Identify and document:
O root cause analysis of the outage
O corrective actions performed
O identify any lessons learned
O problem management support
Experience: possess a full working knowledge and experience with:
File transfer protocols
Openssh and tectia
Posses some experience with the following systems, hardware, and software:
Red hat enterprise linux (rhel) /zlinux
Bmc control-m/enterprise manager
Knowledge incident/problem service asset management (kisam – defect reporting/tracking)
Current irs mbi clearance is highly preferred
Status of clearance (e.g., active public trust)
