Octo consulting group is seeking experienced sharepoint developer to join our growing team in support of a federal customer in rockville, md.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, configure, and deploy custom sharepoint solutions
Assist/support with sharepoint migrations
Work with business analysts, system owners, and users to understand requirements
Participate in solution design and concept visualization, create user interface mockups/prototypes and demo solutions to stakeholders
Create documentation including design documents, standard operating procedures, system and maintenance documentation, and assist with training documentation & user guides
Create and administer sites and site collections
Prepare deployment scripts and coordinate with server administrators for deployments, including troubleshooting deployment issues
Administration of user security and site permissions from conceptual design to implementation
Enhance/maintain existing customer applications to increase ease-of-use and add new functionality, including troubleshooting and debugging issues
Perform platform/applications maintenance support, deploying sub-sites, site subscriptions, feature sets, applications, and services.

The project you will be supporting will migrate an existing legacy portfolio to a more evolvable architecture that can better leverage a cloud environment to deliver better technology, reduce program sustainment costs, and higher system reliability.
Requirements:
Strong experience with front end sharepoint customization
Experience with forms development using microsoft infopath (or other tools)
Experience with common industry tools such as share-gate and sharepoint designer
Some level of knowledge/experience working with windows server and/or iis
Experience developing web applications utilizing javascript, css, html, and xml
Experience creating and modifying sharepoint designs with master pages, page layouts, & css
Experience with custom web parts, features, style sheets, and site definitions
Experience writing sql queries, and analyzing sql data
Expert knowledge of out of the box features especially site administration
General knowledge of microsoft azure cloud
Ability to balance priorities and work load across multiple projects as needed
Strong oral and written communication skills
In-depth understanding of a consulting environment
Desired skills:
Knowledge of sharepoint-based workflows a plus
Experience with powershell scripts to automate deployments and other activities a plus
Years of experience: minimum of four (4) years of sharepoint development experience (see `requirements` for details)
Education: bs degree
Location: remote
Clearance: must be able to obtain and maintain a federal public trust clearance, including a us residency requirement where non-us citizens must have lived in the us three of last 5 years.
