Northrop grumman strategic space systems division (sssd) has an opening for a principal electrical engineer/ srPrincipal electrical engineer 3/4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individualsThis position will be located in redondo beach, ca, and will support test, design and procurement of solar array sub-assemblies from multiple suppliers.
The selected candidate will have the following responsibilities:
Produce photovoltaic array electrical design related engineering drawings and specifications
Planning and execution of design, analysis, test and qualification and may include mechanical solar array structures
Provide status, problem resolution plans and provide input as an integrated process team (ipt) member to a complete solar array mechanical/electrical design and production efforts
Support weekly subcontract telecoms, review in-process data, attend manufacturing readiness reviews (mrrs) and test readiness reviews (trrs), review test data and support pre-shipment readiness review meeting
Develop cost estimates and track efforts to these estimates
Basic qualifications:
This requisition may be filled at either the principal electrical engineer/ srPrincipal electrical engineer level.
Bq for the principal electrical engineer: bachelor`s degree in electrical engineering or related stem (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) discipline with 5 years of engineering experience; or master`s degree in electrical engineering or related stem (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) discipline with 3 years of engineering experience; or ph.d in a stem discipline.
Bq for the srPrincipal electrical engineer: bachelor`s degree in electrical engineering or related stem (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) discipline with 9 years of engineering experience; or master`s degree in electrical engineering or related stem (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) discipline with 7 years of engineering experience; or ph.d electrical engineering or related stem (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) discipline with 4 years of engineering experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience with procurement of aerospace hardware design and/or development of components.
Hands on experience in mechanical/electrical troubleshooting of components and equipment
Ability to obtain and maintain a dod clearance.
Preferred qualifications:
Active ssbi clearance
Working and programming knowledge with labview
Self-motivated, work with minimal supervision and excellent communication skills
Has demonstrated multidisciplinary skills and ability to work with manufacturing and other engineering disciplines
Experience with microsoft word, excel, powerpoint, project
Salary range: $101,400 usd - $152,200 usd salary range 2: $125,800 usd - $188,600 usd
