The it lead it business systems analyst – cad/cam/cae is a key business interfacing role that has technical and business domain specific expertise and provides oversight and coordination across the portfolio of cad, cam, cae, and related applicationsThey develop, maintain, and communicate processes and standards related to the high-level design, development, and implementation of solutions across the application portfolioAdditionally, they work with the business to define technology roadmaps for all portfolio tools & ensure solutions meet business needs along with architecturally significant functional and nonfunctional requirements.
Principal duties and responsibilities
Ability to examine current cad/cam/cae configurations and architectures and work with business and technical staff to identify opportunity to recommend and drive solutions that result in modernizing existing processes or systems.
Effectively translates business needs, challenges, and context into technical solutions captured in technical diagrams and other documentation.
Shares/teaches current trends/technologies in consumer space and be aware of technology initiatives from other best in class retailers and technology companies globally
Leverages expertise to identify opportunities to advance business capabilities.
Assess, plan, evaluate, and implement information system support needs for business operations according to policies, procedures, protocols, and standards.
Responsible for system assessment, process analysis, identification of system requirements, and functional definition of planned system changes.
Formulates systems scope and objectives relative to the business plan acting as a member of a project team responsible for providing technical guidance concerning the business implications.
Identify and implement cad/cam/cae-based solutions that support more efficient and effective work performance based on inherent knowledge of business functions and processes.
Understand system behavior, inputs, and outputs as they relate to business functions
Confirm that the new releases function as intended and there is no negative impact to existing functionality.
Document and monitor requirements needed to institute proposed updates.
Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions.
Collaborate with the rest of the plm it team to participate in projects and identify system improvements.
Document all changes to applications per internal controls.
Create technical documentation and conduct end-user training.
Adhere to industry best practices for change and release management.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Expected areas of competence
Significant experience with multiple cad/cam/cae applications such as autodesk, solidworks, or nx is required.
History of working with plm systems such as windchill, teamcenter, or solidworks pdm is highly preferred.
Strong foundational knowledge of general it areas and technologies is preferred.
Demonstrated experience leading enterprise wide upgrades and/or enterprise business process improvement utilizing project management methodologies.
Strong technical and analytical skills.
Strong attention to detail and goal oriented.
Strong understanding of change management.
Able to work independently with minimal guidance and effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Able to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.
Able to work on multiple projects at one time and deliver results based on project deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
Strong customer service orientation.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering design, information systems, computer engineering, or another similar degree with 6+ years related professional experience required.
5+ years experience with multiple cad/cam/cae applications such as autodesk, solidworks, or nx is required.
Experience with plm systems such as windchill, teamcenter, or solidworks pdm is highly preferred.
Minimal travel required, <10% to support projectsUsually in the americas and continental europe.
