The inside sales associate’s primary responsibilities are to close sales and drive revenue growth through outbound and inbound indirect customer and prospect contact to generate and follow up on inquiries, sales leads and quotes and convert them to sales orders with the companyNew business development activities will focus on coordinated target market and product campaigns, new target agency outreach projects and resurrecting non-active customers.
Essential duties and responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Directly pursue new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow up.
Timely follow-up on open quotes to convert them into sales orders.
Make outbound cold calls and email outreach to generate new sales in target markets.
Respond promptly to inbound customer and prospect calls with recommendations and solutions to support their requirements.
Listen carefully to customers and maintain a positive attitude so prompt and accurate decisions can be made.
Learn products and keep informed of new products introduced online continually.
Share sales successes and new customer requirements with team for team building and company development opportunities.
Establish good working rapport with customers, vendors and other company departments.
Create a positive and professional image for the company.
Occasionally meet customers in showrooms, field demo or trade show events or other sales activities where directed.
Strong listening and suggestive selling skills to understand customer requirements and needs and provide solutions options.
Ability to handle upset customers and think logically to find a business-sense solution that satisfies and keeps the customer.
Ability to make quick and accurate decisions.
Knowledge of computer systems specifically microsoft outlook, word, excel, internet.
Good mathematical aptitude for preparing and calculating quotes, shipping, etc.
Excellent computer, phone, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, managing one’s own time.
Mental reasoning capabilities; to cope with tight deadlines; changing priorities; handle stress and maintain mature problem-solving demeanor.
Interest in supporting the first responder community.
Credentials and experience
College degree or equivalent experience.
Previous experience in inside b2b sales preferred.
Previous crm experience a plus
Previous experience in a professional work environment necessary.
Previous first responder or military experience a plus
