Director, people & culture
Meet regularly with client/practice leads to discuss gaps on teams, performance issues, mobility opportunities, business changes and updates, team dynamics, employee growth and engagement, and succession planning in order to strategically align on priorities and take action to balance client and employee needs Maintain a holistic knowledge across the agency of critical openings and, in partnership with the people planning center of value, create internal solutions to fill these openings. Single point of contact for employees in the assigned business units, providing true people partnership, coaching, and feedbackIncludes but is not limited to conducting 60-day check-ins with new hires, yearly check-ins with each employee for the purpose of retention and engagement, and provide coaching, guidance, and perspective for all situations in between to help with any questions or challenges they may be facing. Conduct exit interviews with employee group when there is a resignation. Consult with employees and managers on escalated issues such as underperformance, bias, misconduct, morale, personal challenges, and complaints and partner with employee relations center of value on highly sensitive and high-risk situations. Support the performance management cycle by providing solutions to drive 100% completion for all steps of the process (goal setting, 360 feedback, annual performance reviews). Lead the talent mapping process by maintaining the quarterly schedule, updating spreadsheets for client/practice leads to populate, facilitating the sessions, and keeping notes organized. Prepare and qa customized analyses that are sent to senior leadership in order to provide insight into people trends. Partner closely with the groupm talent acquisition team to provide updates on priority openings, ensure timely approval of open requisitions, and monitor candidate progressReview offer letters for accuracy and inform client leads of upcoming new hire start dates. Partner with immigration center of value and immigration lawyers on open and new visa/green card cases. Support company goal to increase diversity within the agency and promote equity for all employees while fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels they belongThis can be done in (but is not limited to) the following ways: influencing salary equity, championing diverse candidate slates during the recruitment process, ensuring fairness when evaluating performance, and taking action to support retention in our diverse populations.
Bachelor’s degree + 4 years of progressive hr experience or equivalent (at least 3 of those as an hrbp) Heavy experience with employee relations and talent (resource) management is a must Basic knowledge of immigration law is preferred Basic knowledge to ca employment law is a plus Experience using adp, jobvite, hr acuity is a plus Experience working in a large, matrixed organization is a plus Excellent verbal and written communication skills Exemplary organizational skills and attention to detail High personal integrity and ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality Ability to multi-tasks and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment Ability to anticipate problems before they arise Solutions-oriented Comfortable working in microsoft office tools – word, excel, powerpoint, outlook Ability to build and develop relationships, including ability to influence decision making and decision makers
