Vermont cider company is seeking a copack sales manager who will be responsible for identifying, selling, and managing new copack business growth and expansion opportunities for vermont hard cider coLlc, d.b.aGreen mountain beverage.
The successful candidate will promote gmb’s copack services and manufacturing capabilities, identify leads for target brands and clients, and sell excess plant capacity to meet business objectives for the companyStrong sales and management experience is critical for landing new clients, negotiating agreements, and onboarding new brands for productionCustomer service skills are needed to identify client’s needs, solve problems, and propose solutions to meet both client and company interests.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Initiate and execute in collaboration with management the strategic plan for the copack business utilizing and optimizing existing assets and manufacturing capabilities
Develop in-depth knowledge of and widely promote gmb’s manufacturing capabilities
Research and identify target clients and brands
Prospect and sell excess plant capacity to target customers
Maintain strict confidentiality of clients and company information protected by mutual non-disclosure agreements
Collaborate with internal stakeholders in bid development, copack proposals, and contract execution
Ensure a high level of client satisfaction by maintaining effective communications throughout and beyond the business development cycle
Responsible for following food safety/regulatory policies and procedures, executing responsibilities as identified in standard operating procedures, and reporting food safety/regulatory concerns to the production or quality manager.
Education & experience:
Bachelor`s degree in business, marketing or a sales related field
5+ years sales experience in contract manufacturing or related industries
Proven track record of successfully winning new business and sustaining contracts
Requirements & skills:
Must be able to travel to meet with potential customers, host customers for site visits at gmb in middlebury, vt, and attend industry trade shows.
Self-starter, creative thinker with ability to motivate others.
Hunter focused personality with ability to prospect, outreach, and close sales
Strong motivation and creativity to successfully reach prospects and initiate conversations
Strong understanding of sales methodology; outstanding selling abilities and interpersonal skills
