Job summary this role consists of business development (35%), and custom program management (65%).
Working as a business developer, this role is responsible, in partnership with the director of business development, to develop and execute an overall strategy for business development within capeThis position includes an emphasis on developing relationships with existing partners and identifying additional custom or open enrollment opportunities within those companies.
Working as the custom program manager, this role will manage a portfolio of non-degree continuing education programs offered in custom formats, as assignedApply an understanding of the continuing education needs of a designated market segment, competitors in the education and training services market, faculty resources (both within the ust faculty and adjuncts), and the principles of effective adult education in all decisions regarding program content and delivery.
Work as part of a team to achieve program revenue and contribution margin objectives by managing program costs and focusing efforts on participant enrollment, low attrition, and a superior experience that builds opportunity for repeat or referral businessWork collaboratively with program directors, marketing staff, other program managers, other university personnel, and external vendors to understand and meet customer requirements and achieve consistently high levels of customer satisfaction.
The custom account manager is responsible for driving overall business development activities for both open enrollment and custom program opportunities.
Business development activities (35%):
General business development activities
Working in partnership with the director of business development, design, develop, and execute the overall business development strategy for cape.
Custom client account management
Interacts with custom cape client organizations to ensure customer satisfaction with current programs and services and to assess opportunities for future business development, recording/reporting all contacts in salesforce.
Develops partnering relationships with appropriate trade associations and affinity groups for promotional purposes (links in their e-newsletters, exhibiting rights, presentations to their constituents, etc.).
Manages work plans, schedules, pricing proposals and budgets for new custom programs and subsequent cohorts.
Collaborate with department accountant to monitor revenue, expenses, contribution margin, and various financial reports related to programs.
Actively manage all direct program costs for individual programs.
Work collaboratively as part of a team to develop marketing and deliver financial plans for programs.
Custom program management (65%)
Program management and instructor support
Completes program management tasks related to scheduling, determining physical space and technology needs, learning management system access and use, catering, compiling instructional materials, and ensuring day-of event collateral is prepared and accurate for all custom programs.
Act as main point of contact for custom program instructors related to collecting and reviewing materials, scheduling, contracting, and participant or department-related communication to ensure program deliverables are clear and quality standards of instruction are being maintained.
Act as point of contact for custom program participants once they enroll (in conjunction with registrar for billing); provide high-quality touch points throughout program including delivering the program welcome and participating in the program wrap-up.
Distribute evaluations and manage feedbackProactively follow up on feedback with the client to engage them in further conversation, focus groups, and/or program testimonials.
Program development support
Collaborates with cape staff to identify and contract with competent subject-matter experts and instructors for custom programs.
Participates in custom program development consultations with clients, program developers, and identified instructors to assist with needs assessment and provide input on design and budgetary considerations.
Use client requests and feedback from program evaluations to recommend changes and improvements to custom program design and delivery.
Qualifications: minimum qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Five years of experience in program administration, office management, or event management
Fully vaccinated for covid-19 or eligible for legally required exemption such as a medical or religious reason
An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may be substituted.
