This position is full-time (40 hours/week) monday - fridayEmployees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 1:00pm - 5:30am arizona timeIt may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
This is high volume, customer service environmentYou’ll need to be efficient, productive and thorough dealing with our members over the phoneYou also must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes evening hours.
*all telecommuters will be required to adhere to unitedhealth group’s telecommuter policy.
Manage administrative intake of members
Work with hospitals, clinics, facilities and the clinical team to manage requests for services from members and / or providers
Process incoming and outgoing referrals, and prior authorizations, including intake, notification and census roles
Assist the clinical staff with setting up documents / triage cases for clinical coverage review
Handle resolution/inquiries from members and / or providers

High school diploma / ged (or higher)
1+ years of customer service experience in a call center environment
Experience working with microsoft word (creating, editing, saving documents) and microsoft excel (creating, editing, saving spreadsheets)
Experience working with a pc and windows applications, with the ability to learn other sometimes complex systems
Any experience working within the healthcare industry
Working knowledge of medical terminology
Ability to work monday-friday any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 1:00pm - 5:30am arizona timeIt may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime
1+ years of experience working with icd-9 / 10 and cpt codes
Professional experience in a clerical or administrative support related role
Experience working with health care insurance
Experience working in a hospital, physician`s office or medical clinic setting
Knowledge of icd - 9 and cpt codes
Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
Must live in a location that can receive a unitedhealth group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
