This associate director, business development position will work alongside a high caliber team on of one of unitedhealthcare’s most prestigious customer/partner relationships within the northeast region and mid-atlantic health planThis uhss customer is a self-insured, not-for profit association providing medical and dental plans to federal employees/retirees and their families through the federal employees health benefits program(“fehb”) and the federal employees dental and vision insurance program (“fedvip”) administered by the office of personnel management (“opm”).
This associate director, business development will leverage their expertise in project management to make things happen – leading others in the organization to make meaningful process improvements and delivering operational excellenceThis associate director, business development will use insights to make business-savvy recommendations and create innovative solutions to help our teams accomplish the goals and impact the business performance of a very complex customer/partnerSuccess is achieved by identifying and exceeding customer expectations, as well as improving the customer experience.
If you are located within eastern or central time zones you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges.
Collaborate with multiple stakeholders and leaders across a matrixed environment as well as externally to ensure exceptional business performance and operational readiness
Orchestrate and organize work elements in order to successfully produce all deliverables on timeDevelop multiple project/programs plans that include milestones, tasks and resource assignments to ensure deadlines are met.
Ensure all work plans are current and comprehensive
Utilize existing software (ms teams) to project manage, but work to find more efficient tools for project management and successfully/smoothly transition all projects management plans to new environment
Understand the e&i, uhss/umr business, systems and operational processes to be able to guide and support solution recommendations and implementation
Collaborate with operational and clinical leads to understand where challenges are and resolve
Articulate and solve problems, proactively and collaboratively
Speak/write clearly and listen actively
Pro-actively identify options and/or additional opportunities or actions needed to meet objectives
Take responsibility for outcomes of actions and decisions and identify/analyze options and select course of action based on best fit with desired outcomes.
Tailor communication to audience, conveying appropriate sense of urgency and relevant information
Serve as a thoughtful partner within the business to provide innovative solutions and drive change
Ensure robust processes in place to meet regulatory and compliance standards - both internally and externally
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to ever changing priorities
Accountable for meeting high performance standards and agreed upon commitments

5+ years project management experience
3+ years of experience in the group insurance and/or health industry
Demonstrated experience collaborating and communicating with all levels internally
Demonstrated experience creating presentations and presenting to multiple levels of leadership
Solid history of quickly building relationships, gaining credibility and partnering with business leaders, both internally and externally
Demonstrated ability to achieve results in a complex, matrix environment through influencing and leadership
Advanced skills in ms office (excel, word, powerpoint, onenote, teams)
Proven track record of achievement
Demonstrated experience working with public sector/labor & trust clients
Familiarity with uhss and umr operations
Familiarity with fehbp benefit administration
Demonstrated ability to organize, manage, and control multiple projects concurrently and prioritize demands
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously
Proven analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
