Responsibilities
Staff research associate (sra) to assist drLiza buchbinder with field intercept data gathering for dgsom funded project on experiences of former la county jail inmates with the covid19 vaccine while incarceratedIn addition to assisting with data collection in the form of field intercept surveys and semi-structured interviews the sra will assist drBuchbinder in preparation and proposal writing for future related researchEmployee will be responsible for managing protocols for potential face-to-face researchCurrently, employee will be working remotely with drBuchbinderCovid-19 conditions permitting, the position may revert to in-person workThis is part-time position up to 2 hours a week.
Qualifications
Ba or bs in humanities or social sciences or behavioral/laboratory sciences preferred.
Experience in office management and health delivery and access to services research is preferred.
Facility with computers on a windows platform, fast typing and ability to learn new computer softwares as needed.
Proficiency in the following programs highly desirable: audio-visual coding softwares, zotero, word, excel, adobe acrobat, nvivo, dragon naturally speaking, powerpoint, firefox, chrome.
Excellent english language skillsKnowledge of spanish desirable to assist with coding data, taking dictation and editing transcribed interviews and research databases.
Understanding of medical/public health literature and exposure to social science and humanities theory desirable.
Flexibility to work non-standard and varying hoursAbility to work efficiently under time-pressure and against deadlines and coordinate collegially with other staff and colleagues.
