Role summary as a program manager, you will lead account and project management functions on a select portfolio of civilian and commercial projectsYou are expected to serve as a marquee account program lead, working as the primary driver for customer satisfaction, account strategy, on-contract growth, and ensuring the on-scope, on-time, and on-budget delivery of quality products and services to customers within the civilian + commercial business unit.
In your day-to-day operations, you will serve as the key client-facing point of contact for projects in your portfolio, responsible for the execution of customer engagements and internal team managementYou will maximize u.group’s capabilities through accurate resourcing, pricing, and scoping, while managing deliverables and project schedulesIn addition to driving delivery success, you will work to ensure customer satisfaction and pursue growth opportunities for the business.
You will work closely with members of u.group leadership to understand customer needs, industry trends, and align with u.group’s capabilities to grow the businessYou will also be responsible for reporting and communicating progress to both the customer and u.group leadership.
Objective 1: plan, manage, and facilitate u.group project delivery, ensuring that our work is delivered on-time and on-budget to highly-satisfied customers.
Manage a cross-functional team throughout the project lifecycle ensuring that projects are delivered successfullyWork with team members to remove barriers to delivery, including but not limited to identifying then eliminating or mitigating risks to delivery.
Identify customer needs and requirements that can be translated into discrete task and milestones, managing against contracted scope and utilizing change management processes.
Chart a project plan, identifying and assigning project tasks and milestones, as well as dependencies, to ensure appropriate internal planning, resourcing and on-time delivery.
Plan appropriate customer and internal communication methods, providing ongoing status updates, including budget status, risks, current schedule, staffing needs, etc.
Ensure quality control for all project deliverables and activities, working with craft areas to determine internal review and refinement processesEnsure that u.group’s delivery is meeting contractual requirements and contributes to the customer’s goal.
Oversee and effectively communicate staffing needs to craft leadership teams, ensuring that assignments align with customer need and project budgets constraints.
Effectively utilize company project management (jira) and resourcing (float) tools, making timely updates throughout the project lifecycle.
Objective 2: oversee and manage the financial success of a project to ensure overall profitability and compliance.
In collaboration with finance, you will be responsible for accurate and on-time billing and reporting, including all appropriate documentation per u.group’s billing standard operating procedures.
Develop and communicate financial and resourcing reporting through monthly project management reporting (pmr) and forecasts.
Utilizing the information gleaned from monthly forecasts, use project management principle knowledge areas to effectively influence project estimates at completion (eacs) to meet company-wide profitability goals.
Collaborate with delivery and craft project team members to develop resourcing estimates, helping to inform company-wide staffing and talent acquisition decision-making.
Objective 3: strategically manage a program portfolio, driving on-contract growth.
Lead development and execution of account strategies mapped to customer goals, industry landscape, and u.group capabilities.
Maintain a broad understanding of your customers’ account business strategies, drivers, goals, and initiatives, as well as the customer’s organizational opportunities and competitive landscapes to enable successful delivery and growth opportunities.
Maximize staffing, budget, and remaining contract utilization by optimizing delivery team, achieving desired roles and roles, and shaping new work aligned with strategic goals and capabilities.
Expand portfolio and relationships to include new tos, ftes, and/or project-based work.
Actively shape recompete and new business opportunities; develop capture strategies, small business partners, and proposal responses.
Objective 4: drive account growth through prospecting, capture or recompete evaluations and business development activities.
Serve as proposal manager and lead for on-contract growth opportunities by working to resource a proposal team comprised of craft subject matter experts and constructing a statement of work with associated pricingUsher the proposal from initial gateway validation through approval according to u.group’s standard operating procedures.
Collaborate with business development team to identify, develop, and execute new and existing business growth strategies.
Represent u.group at customer, industry and/or tradecraft opportunities (i.e., via conferences, meetups, working groups, memberships, trainings, etc.) to build relationships, establish partnerships, and grow the business.
Maintain deep understanding of u.group capabilities and performance to connect with new portfolio or account opportunities.
Objective 5: maintain positive relationships among internal and external partners to ensure successful delivery and customer satisfaction.
Serve as trusted advisor to customer and u.group leadership to drive account and customer delivery strategies.
Cultivate and expand relationships across a deep network of customer stakeholders to maintain a holistic understanding of the customer, needs, and priorities.
Manage customer relationships to result in successful delivery outcomes, including, but not limited to, strategic customer touch bases assessing whether u.group’s delivery expectations are meeting or exceeding the customer’s expectations.
Communicate to civcomm leadership any delivery-related challenges for remediation and resolution.
Partner with cross-functional teams to maintain account performance and operational support.
