The it security automation engineer is a results oriented technical subject matter expert who must be able to work with little management oversight and will be responsible for automating the corporation’s security workflow.

Develop automation and execution of security controls, defenses and countermeasures to intercept and prevent internal or external attacks or attempts to infiltrate company infrastructure. Monitor and research attempted or successful efforts to compromise systems security. Provide regular reports to management regarding existing or potential risks to tyler systems. Research and implement options for new or improved technology. Facilitate automation of security tasks, including implementing hardening baselines. Identify, analyze and resolve enterprise security design weaknesses. Manage, administer and maintain all enterprise security tool suites and utilities. Develop and enhance the security and automation of corporate systems (such as o365). Mentor junior members of the it security team.
The security engineer must be able to:
Understand steps and processes in various ci/cd pipelines. Work within the team and other groups to manage multiple projects with hard deadlines. Work independently with a high degree of accountability to deliver production ready systems. Provide/produce detailed documentation, commented code, diagrams or reference architecture.
Education, experience, and special skills
At least 5+ years of progressively increasing responsibility in the areas of information security, programming/automation, or cybersecurity. Bachelor’s degree in it, cybersecurity or related area of study, or comparable work experience Strong understanding of programming, sdlc, and security automation desired Familiarity with systems such as github, tfs/azure devops, teamcity, artifactory, octopus deploy, ansible, puppet, chef, codecommit or similar strongly desired. Experience with multiple environments and operating systems, devices and databases including windows server, active directory, vmware, azure or aws is preferred Strong analytical and problem solving skills Strong incident response background is preferred Fundamental understanding of security related technologies such as siem and soar Must have and maintain one or more cloud or security certifications such as aws, azure, cissp, cisa, cism, cipt, sscp, ccsp Strong understanding of information security standards, concepts, controls, testing techniques and technical risk assessment
