Tilson is on a mission to build america`s information infrastructure and we are seeking individuals from across the country to join usRecognized on the inc5000 list of fastest-growing private companies in the u.sFor eleven years in a row, tilson is a high growth team of driven professionals with a national practiceWe build high-performing teams who take on the largest and most impactful projects for our clientsPosition details a background in civil / structural engineering to support the engineering design and permitting of large telecom projects, including, wireless towers and/or small cells and fiber optic aerial and underground design is requiredThis person will have experience creating site, permitting, construction, and as-built drawingsExperience in utility pole and conduit position and standards within the public right-of-way, relative to other utilities in the space is requiredAs part of a larger project team, this position is a member of a design team comprised of engineers, designers, and drafting technicians that support telecom design projectsThis person must be a licensed pe in arizona with the willingness and ability to obtain licensing in additional statesResponsibilities:
Work collaboratively with a design team of professional engineers, drafters, designers, and osp professionals and engineers
Manage all information required to create deliverables across project life cycle, from initial survey to final construction drawing submission
Research and obtain local land base and existing utility as-built shape files for import to aid in design
Conduct qa/qc and process documents for project specific specifications and standards
Review and stamp design deliverables for a variety of telecom projects and scopes
Manage project timeline, while overseeing deliverable completion
Must perform self-study to understand new and emerging technologies must maintain continuing education required to hold a stamp in specific states
Train new team members and continually educate design team on standards and review process – make sure all contributors know the required review criteria as it impacts other project areas
Must collaborate with cross functional groups on projects
Ensure all drawings comply with industry, local jurisdiction, and client standards
Help lead team of designers / drafters to create accurate cad site, permitting, construction, and as-built drawings for telecom projects utilizing engineering notes, sketches, and/or other drawings
Mentor and train drafters, as needed, to meet project objectives
Exhibit a positive ‘can do’ approach and desire to support project requirements
Create, coordinate, and manage cad data for multiple very large telecom projects
Organize and maintain revisions of project drawings, plot files and project-related information in a logical well structured manner
Adhere to task level budgets and project schedule
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
Strong engineering / technical background, especially in civil and or structural design.
Progressive experience in autocad.
Thorough understanding of public right-of-way, private easements, existing utilities, such as water, sewer, gas, electric, communication, and other underground and aerial utilities.
Ability to read and interpret construction and other types of design drawings.
Detail oriented and committed to a quality control process.
Proficiency in ms office suite (word, excel, outlook) and adobe acrobat.
Comfortable with google earth, gis or other mapping applications.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Prior work in the telecommunications field, or a strong civil engineering background.
Ability to be flexible in daily duties and level of responsibility, encompassing redlining as well as leading plan production efforts.
Flexible to work outside of normal business hours, if required.
Ability to prioritize projects, deadlines daily.
Must enjoy working in a fast paced, high-growth, rapidly changing work environment.
