Calling all change makers!!
We are looking to add several volunteer board members to help cultivate our legal advocacy, programming, and outreach advocacy in the southern us.
We are seeking individuals, scholars, and attorneys passionate in the areas of civil rights, criminal justice reform, educational equity, and employment discrimination lawsuits.

What makes our team unique is that we are a working board - meaning our board members invest time, professional expertise, talent, and regularly advocate and engage their personal network and resources.
Each individual board members is expected to:
Present forward-thinking ideas and initiatives to support the mission. Advocate in public and advocate for the causeAttend local meetings. Help support, build and maintain committees within your focusI.e legal advocacy, fundraising, etc.
Qualifications, skills and abilities:
Leadership skills in decision making, diplomacy, and engagement Strong writing skills, and comfortable with public speaking. Trusted ability to complete tasks, projects and lead a small team Willingness to provide periodic, mentorship, and career coaching experience.
Board participation requirements:
Contribute 15 hours per month to moving the mission forward. Communicate with board members regularly, especially the board, and executive director. Contribute financially to the mission as well as actively involved in community engagements. Be passionate about our mission and be willing to invest time, expertise and talent to grow organization.
Length of term:
Board members to commit to a minimum of 1-2 years.
Meetings and time commitment:
The board of directors will meet quarterly unless otherwise notedMeetings typically last 1 hour Committees of the board will meet as necessary to accomplish various goals and responsibilities of the organization.
Further, board members are expected to:
Sign an annual conflict-of-interest disclosure and non-disclosure agreement. Agree to background check Follow the organization's bylaws, policies, and board decisions Maintain confidentiality about all internal matters of the organization.
Job type: part-time
Pay: $8.00 per year
Monday to friday On call
