Full job description
The doctors company information technology team has an opportunity for a scm build and release engineerThis is a remote opportunity or may report to one of our offices across the country.
Under general supervision, coordinates, manages, and releases application development code related to the development and deployment of tdc technologies within dev, qa, qa2, uat, and production environmentsTracks project deliverables and reports project status to managementRelies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goalsWorks with application development to continually improve current release processes and technologies utilizedAlso will develop automated scripts to help overall testing of products releasedContacts may include internal it staff and users, as well as external software and hardware vendorsPosition may involve occasional after-hours production support or weekend maintenance.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Three (3) years of software configuration management / build experience.
Three (3) years of experience with deployment of solutions based on microsoft .net technologies, oracle database is a plus.
Three (3) years of experience with change management and release process /equivalent work experience.
Two (2) years of experience with azure devops, git source code management and continuous integration
Leadership / team development
Coach, mentor, and motivate project team and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their tasks/projects while supporting overall team to identify and achieve corporate goals, department goals and development goals.
Communicates and delivers ongoing/timely feedback to project team regarding their performance.
Monitor roles and responsibilities of the project team.
Understands, monitors, and leads changes in the software development lifecycle to carry forward configuration management best practices.
Stay well informed of current and emerging technologies / technology trends.
Analysis, design & execution
Manage software configuration management process.
Participate in the development, debugging, administration and maintenance of build- and source code/cr reporting-related tools in addition to nightly and other automated build tools and processes.
Build and install applications and all of their components (database, file systems, code, etc.), including but not limited to code merge, promotion, deployment and verification.
Perform impact analysis during build planning as it pertains to software packaging, operational changes, downtime, policies and procedures.
Administrate and maintain scm system repository.
Scm release quality control- evaluates the product release following implementation and drives continuous improvement into the company`s it processes.
Project management / task management
Coordinate, plan and lead the configuration, build and release management plans.
Coordinate and manage projects and tasks base on priority with clear and concise communication.
Project was delivered on time per specifications.
Project deliveries maintained a balance of scope, schedule, and cost along with a strong focus around quality and the achievement of business outcomes
Customer service / collaboration
Maximizes performance while upholding and encouraging behaviors consistent with tdc`s mission & values.
Communicates company values, beliefs and norms to team members on an ongoing basis.
Serves as a role model for company values.
Responsible for level 1 troubleshooting of issues related to deployment or configuration management.
Other duties as assigned
Available for all duties, accepts delegated tasks readily and completes assigned duties as directed.
