As a project engineer/senior project engineer in the integration and modeling, simulation & analysis department within the integrated missile warning missile tracking missile defense subdivision of the space based sensing division, you will provide systems security engineering and cybersecurity support to pre-production programs and programs of recordThis is available as a project engineer or senior project engineerTelecommuting is possible but moderated by classified meetings and the need to access classified materialsWhat you’ll be doing
Provide the government with systems security engineering and cybersecurity expertise as a member of the aerospace space based sensing division (sbsd)
Identify and recommend mitigation strategies for the removal of ground and space cybersecurity vulnerabilities
Provide cybersecurity expertise in support of critical decision points and provide ground truth assessments of security events/activities and posture
Participate in risk management activities to ensure cybersecurity risks are evaluated and effective mitigations applied in accordance with security directives
Review of cybersecurity test procedures for requirements satisfaction, including participation in test readiness review activities and witnessing of test events
Participate in defensive cyberspace operations (dco) planning and implementation
What you need to be successful (project engineer) minimum requirements:
Stem bachelor’s degree with 8 years of related professional engineering/scientific experience which includes 5 years of current space systems cybersecurity/cyber operations; or a comparable prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction and study in the area of cybersecurity/cyber operations and at least 10 years of overall cyber security experience that includes at least 6 years of space systems technical experience and level iii certification as described in the dod approved 8570 baseline certifications (available at https://public.cyber.mil/cw/cwmp/dod-approved-8570-baseline-certifications/ )
Knowledge of dod cybersecurity policies, including risk management framework (rmf)
Experience in space systems security engineering and cybersecurity
Willingness to obtain a certified information systems security professional (cissp) certification within 6 months of starting
This position requires a current top secret/sci security clearance, which is issued by the us governmentU.s citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
What you need to be successful (senior project engineer) minimum requirements:
Stem (science, technology, engineering or math) bachelor’s degree with 12 years of related professional engineering/scientific experience which includes 8 years of current space systems cybersecurity/cyber operations; or a comparable prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction and study in the area of cybersecurity/cyber operations and at least 15 years of overall cyber security experience that includes at least 9 years of space systems technical experience and level iii certification as described in the dod approved 8570 baseline certifications (available at https://public.cyber.mil/cw/cwmp/dod-approved-8570-baseline-certifications/ )
Knowledge of dod cybersecurity policies, including risk management framework (rmf)
Strong background in space systems security engineering and cybersecurity
Willingness to obtain a certified information systems security professional (cissp) certification within 6 months of starting
