Responsibilities: technica is looking for a sql server dba/engineer to be part of a team which provides engineering design and operational support of several large-scale mission-critical enterprise sql server-based applications and environments for our customer, a top-tier government agency responsible for law enforcement, national security, and intelligence efforts.
Job requirements: experience evaluating designing troubleshooting and implementing sql server solutions, as well as providing tier lll support to solve complex issues and make recommendations on best practicesExperience support projects in various stages of planning for, using testing, or implementing sql server solutionsThis includes writing engineering documentation, presentations, and policies, and beginning a source for answering questionsWell-developed writing and interpersonal skills are a mustRequirements: the sql server database administrator candidate must have the following skills set:
Active top-secret clearance (will be required to sit for ci polygraph)
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
5+ years sql server experience
5+ years’ experience installing sql server environments, creating schemas, performing online backups, understand archive logs and redo logs.
Experience with sql server 2016 and 2019
The candidate can work independently without supervision for sql server installation, setup, and configuration database engine, reporting, and integration services.
Able to set up database maintenance job/task, configure database mail, create or set up alert notification relates to sql server and databases.
Familiar with all levels of high availability solutions such as mirroring, windows failover clustering, and always on high availability group.
Familiar with transparent data encryption (tde).
Experience writing query or sql statements.
Experience with ssrs and ssis.
Familiarity with the ms access database is a plus.
Experience in performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and tuning.
Experience in applying or implementing stigs, familiarity with database and server security/vulnerability scan, and work on documentation, exception/poa`m, etc.
The task will be assigned as needed.
Familiar with encryption in transit.
A cloud experience is a plus.
Must be flexible and creative to continuously reprioritize and focus on driving customer results through value-added solutions
Strong verbal and written communications
Experience working in a large, enterprise environment
Experience providing tier iii support
Experience with unix shell scripting
Experience working with relations data modelling
Sql server certifications (mta, mcsa, mcse) desired or equivalent, but not required
Experience with oracle database platforms/products, including rac and data guard
