Full job description
Telehealth crisis intervention therapist– 2nd shift, 3rd shift and weekend shifts available
Provide immediate telehealth support and assessment to individuals who are experiencing a mental health crisis
Screen candidates that are coming as a referral from community mental health centers & hospitals across the state
Assess needs & determine the appropriate level of care that will minimize trauma
Make the appropriate referrals – including voluntary & involuntary admissions to a psychiatric inpatient facility, cmhc referrals, community resources, etc.
Strive to develop intervention plans that prevent or reduce admissions to hospitals and jails – focusing on the least restrictive environment
Provide documentation of call to referring agency
Collaborate and serve as a resource to bachelor’s level call center employees
Undergo training to receive credentialling by hospitals and cmhcs (approximately 2-4 months depending on skill level) – after which remote work is possible.
Follow the protocols of the referring agency in answering questions, providing documentation, connecting with community resources, etc.
Enjoy a flexible schedule of 8,10- or 12-hour shifts – evenings and weekends.
Receive free supervision towards clinical licensure

Our ideal telehealth crisis intervention therapist…
Masters degree in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy or similar field
Must have a mental health license in the state of kansas – lmsw, lpc, lmft
2 years of experience as a qmhp/screener is preferred
Experience in crisis intervention or a passion to learn
Willingness to embrace brief solutions focused therapy approach to working with clients in immediate need of help
Experience with the cmhc system is preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must successfully complete all background checks associated with working in the mental health/behavioral health industry
Computer savvy, able to learn software and willing to provide services via phone and video/telehealth
Ability to complete on site training in topeka, ks (avg training period is 2-4 months)
