Talke logistics services is looking for a seasoned business development executive (bde) to join our team in our baytown, texas officeReporting to the ceo, the ideal bde will have proven industrial and commercial experience leading outreach efforts to prospects and existing customersThe bde partners with project management in creating solutions that generate and maximize revenueThe bde will identify, introduce, nurture, and develop multi-level relationships within targeted companies and industries.
Supplement and execute the business development plan and marketing strategies for talke’s expansion in the us and canadian market.
Identify and act on suitable business opportunities
Approach potential customers and establish relationships
Support corporate efforts on potential acquisition targets or partnerships that enhance portfolio offering
Nurture new sales leads to secure business
Liaise with marketing and communications to create and publish related materials and messaging on appropriate media
Work closely with project management to work out solutions and bids and present business cases to top management
Present to customers and act as liaison during rfp/bidding process
Collaborate with talke`s global counterparts to offer single global solutions
Minimum bachelor`s degree preferred logistics or business management.
4-10 years solid commercial b2b business development experiencePreferably in logistics or petrochemical industry.
Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including solutions selling, relationship building, cold calls, etc.)
Strong communication skills, both oral and written, ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
Strong communication and presentation skills; tailoring the approach according to customer needs/roleHigh level of empathy
Ability to simplify and clarify complex problems to broad and diverse audiences and to influence appropriately
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, company management, and fellow employees.
A proven track record in commercial (sales) or business development activities of at least 5 years in logistics services in the north american market.
Experience with the chemical/bulk commodities industry and rail logistics are highly beneficial.
Experience managing request for proposals (rfps) for talke’s targeted industries in the chemical and bulk commodities sphere.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Strong research and analytics skills to identify gaps or opportunities in the marketplace.
Fluent in english with good writing skills
Must be willing to travel up to 70%
