Position description: web designer/web master
Description
Sct is seeking contingent web designers/web masters for strategic communications, social marketing, and outreach support to the headquarters, department of the army (hqda) g1 army resilience directorate (ard) for the purpose of supporting sexual harassment/assault response and prevention, suicide prevention, resilience, personal readiness, alcohol & substance abuse as well as other programs.
Ard develops marketing materials, social media content, sponsorships, virtual and in-person events, webinars and podcasts, websites, and products on demandTo guide this work, ard conducts marketing roadmaps, communication plans, newsletters, audience and material assessments, playbooks, media analysis, and knowledge management.
Duties
Provide design, development, and user experience direction for the branch’s digital products.
In coordination with the branch’s government it specialist, maintain the ard’s cloud-hosted public website.
Provide daily support to the ard website to include one weekly scheduled update to the site (with ad hoc updates required on occasion).
Requirements include organizing, updating/posting information on ard’s public site, and reviewing/refreshing/updating the design at the government’s request.
Ensure the site is current and in compliance with all dod and army cybersecurity and network policies to include security scans by a third party (government approved) after significant changes/updates and/or at least yearly to the website
Serve as subject matter expert for client
Work with team members to prepare deliverables, including project briefings, study findings, reports, conclusions and recommendations
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing interactive, design, and creative projects.
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the information technology field.
Expert understanding of web and mobile technologies (such as object-oriented javascript, html, css, objective-c and ios).
Experience with the latest web standards (such as html5 and css3).
Extensive experience with server-side technologies (such as php, asp.net/vb).
Expert understanding of web design and user interactions.
Ability to effectively communicate with users, both internal and external, at all levels from the basic user to the executive leadership.
Army/dod experience preferred.
