Ahs background checks: candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the positionIn accordance with ahs policy 4.02, hiring standards, vermont and/or national criminal record checks, as well as dmv and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position under recruitment, will be conducted on candidates, with the exception of those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer, promotion or demotion into an ahs classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (rif) rights.
Duties are performed in a variety of office and employer workplace settingsSignificant travel to employer sites may be required, for which private means of transportation must be availableWork outside of normal office hours may be required in responding to crisis situationsDealing with people in highly emotional situations may entail some discomfort and possible danger.
Master's degree in counseling, psychology, or social work and one (1) year or more at a professional level in counseling or social work.
Special note: incumbents will be required to pursue licensure as a clinical mental health counselor, clinical psychologist, or clinical social worker.
Two years of mental health counseling experience post-licensure.
