Platform sales manager (lighting)
This is an exciting time to join southwire as a platform sales manager for our lighting product platformThe platform sales manager partners with product managers, marketing, and sales to create and implement a cohesive commercial strategy for our entire lighting businessThis individual will be responsible for profitable growth of lighting sales through direct and third-party sales agency efforts across all southwire sales channels.
Description of duties and responsibilities
Drives profitable growth, price, incremental margin, and vitality for the platform
In collaboration with sales and product managers, the platform sales manager will drive and executes conversions of large customers and channel partners.
Responsible for developing strategies to improve distributor stock position and facilitating the sale of lighting products to new sales channels including retail, ecommerce, mro/catalog, and showroom accounts.
Assist in monitoring and supporting daily pricing decisions for the platform.
Helps develop product strategy and plans to support growth and profitability targets for 3+ years using data to make informed decisions.
Supporting product management in establishing list prices, dnet and special pricing
Help develop and share relative sales reports among other enabling tools to help monitor and drive platform kpi’s.
Monitor sales, margin, and inventory performance and help platform, product managers and sales leaders make recommendations for corrective actions based on results versus plan
Help coordinate with product managers, sales, and marketing the launch of new products and promotion campaigns.
Serve as the advocate for the voice of the customer, consumer, and end-user in product strategy, new product development pricing, promotions, and product positioning
Build partnership across platform and business groups to develop business cases that will drive innovative product concepts and value propositions
Interacts and influences regularly with executives and/or major customers on highly visible activities.
Qualifications and experience requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering required
5 or more years in sales or product management in lighting products
Lc certified a plus
Adept at managing pricing and promotions
Strong business-to-business analytical skills, financial acumen, required
Industry experience in retail and wholesale channels highly desired
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Experience and desire in building strong business relationship
Willingness to travel more than 30%
