Outside sales representative (osr) fulfills the company mission to be the vital link in the supply chain by executing a consistent, structured sales effort focused on an established account listThe osr provides the necessary customer contact, information and services that meet customer expectations and result in profitable sales growthAs a representative of the organization and as a resource for customers and suppliers, the osr models the company culture of continuous development by attaining product knowledge and selling skills relevant to their primary responsibilities.
Primary duties and responsibilities
Meet customer expectations:
Makes consistent contact with customers:
Uses a systematic sales approach to qualify assigned customers on competitive suppliers, product, pricing and service opportunities.
Researches and delivers solutions to satisfy customer needs.
Responds quickly to customer requests.
Maintains current customer contact information.
Manages a daily call log of customer call objectives and results.
Coordinates field support requests with sales manager to provide solutions.
Builds supportive relationships:
Establish customer rapport through frequent, personal contact.
Communicates and collaborates with smalley team members.
Coordinates supplier assistance and involvement when required in order to strengthen customer relationships.
Builds customer loyalty and trust by keeping commitments.
Meets regularly with sales manger to plan sales targets and reviews results.
Prospects new account opportunities:
Identifies new prospect opportunities.
Initiate cold calls on prospective accounts located on the sales route.
Qualifies/identifies potential product and service `fits` between smalley capabilities and prospect`s business needs.
Communicates on observed construction activity located on the sales route.
Pursue continuous development:
Routinely updates product knowledge to strengthen technical expertise.
Uses developmental handbook to learn new skills.
Maintains training record of development activities.
Education and work experience
College degree in a related field from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience in a related field.
Required: one+ (1+) years` outside sales experience.
Required: computer skills intermediate proficiency (microsoft office).
Knowledge, skills, abilities
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and negotiations skills.
High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
Self-motivated and should be able to operate with limited supervision.
Must be an excellent communicator who enjoys assisting clients`, vendors`, employees`.
