About the Role
The Senior Data Scientist will work closely with customers and other teams to understand their questions and needs, then dig into their data-rich environment to find the pieces of their information puzzle. Explore data from various sources, discover patterns and previously hidden insights to address business problems, and use the right combination of tools and frameworks to turn that set of disparate data points into objective answers to help senior leadership make informed decisions.
What you’ll do when you get here:
- Build algorithms in various areas such as optimization, anomaly detection, recommendations, pricing, and other various models as needed by the company.
- Lead the technical development of data science and data engineering.
- Mentor junior members of the team around technical topics.
What you need to have:
- 10 years of experience as a Data Scientist or Engineer
- Experience using Python as a production language. It would be great if you know one or more of the following: R, Scala, C++ or Go.
- Solid understanding of the ML lifecycle and concepts
- Ability to conduct data analytics, supervised and unsupervised machine learning, data mining, exploratory analysis, and statistical analysis, and use scientific techniques to correlate data into graphical, written, visual, and verbal narrative products.
- Ability to proactively retrieve information from various sources, analyze it for better understanding about the data set, and builds AI tools that automate certain processes
- Ability to use logic when evaluating and synthesizing multiple sources of information and interpret analysis to include its meaning, importance, and implications
- Ability to defend analytic judgements with sound, logical conclusions and adapt analytic judgments when presented with new information, evolving conditions, or unexpected developments
- Experience with the design and implementation (building, containerizing, and deploying end to end automated data and ML pipelines) of automated cloud solutions
- Provide expertise for analytical, programmatic, strategic, and operational analysis.
- Perform multiple forms of advanced analyses, sustainment, optimization, text analytics, machine learning, parametric and non-parametric statistical models, and techniques.
- Build, test, validate and demonstrate analytical models through various relevant error metrics and calibration techniques.
What is Preferred:
- Experience developing concise, insightful, and comprehensive products for Logistics customers
- Experience with the application of quantitative and qualitative analytic methods
- Think fast, move fast, action fast. This is less of a research job and more of a build products to market job.
- Ability to recognize nuances and resolve contradictions and inconsistencies in data
- Ability to communicate understanding from information that may be incomplete, indirect, highly complex, seemingly unrelated, or technically advanced
- Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to mentor junior members on technical topics.

---The Salary Range for this role is between $200,000 - $220,000 based on Years of Experience, Skillset, and Location.
