About the Role
Data Engineer to guide the development and delivery of data solutions and capabilities. As a core member of the data team, the Data Engineer is responsible for the design and evolution of our data pipelines, storage systems, and data management tools and processes. The Data Engineer works closely with analytics, solution architecture, and other stakeholders to understand and prioritize data needs and to ensure that our data infrastructure supports key business initiatives. As a Data Engineer, you will drive work to completion with hands-on development responsibilities, and you will partner with team leadership to provide thought leadership and innovation.
What you’ll do when you get here:
- Provides technical leadership to guide delivery of end-to-end data solutions.
- Collaborates with analysts and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and ensure that the data infrastructure supports their work.
- Develop training materials and execute training in Statistical Programming activities, for new and existing staff.
- Crafts and builds reusable components, frameworks, and libraries at scale to support data capabilities.
- Identifies activities for continuous improvement/automation and makes recommendations based on detailed analysis and standard processes.
- Drives data engineering processes and guides team members to ensure work is high quality and on time.
- Fixes data issues and performs root cause analyses to proactively resolve product and operational issues.
- Hands-on experience building data pipelines using AWS technology.
- Python, SQL, ETL/ELT.
- Develop Data Pipelines to build a data lake in AWS, leveraging technologies like EC2, S3, Lambda, Glue, Dynamo DB, Redshift etc.
- Expertise in building data ingestion tools using technologies like Python to extract data from Relational Databases/External API’s.
- Experience in Redshift/Snowflake or any MPP and columnar database on the Cloud.
- Self-starter, curious, accountable, enjoys a healthy level of autonomy, strong work ethic, able to succeed in a fast-paced, high intensity start up environment.
- Demonstrates agility and welcomes change.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives
- Continuously improve data infrastructure to increase efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
- Ensure data quality and integrity through the implementation of best practices and data governance.
What you need to have:
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field
- 3+ years' experience in cloud environments like AWS
- Hands-on experience building data pipelines using AWS technology.
- Develop Data Pipelines to build a data lake in AWS, leveraging technologies like EC2, S3, Lambda, Glue, Dynamo DB, Redshift etc.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Spark) is a plus
- Experience working on CI/CD processes and source control tools such as GitHub and related dev processes
- Experience with Databricks and Snowflake
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

---The Salary Range for this role is between $170,000 - $$190,000 based on Years of Experience, Skillset, and Location.
