What you’ll do:
All responsibilities of software engineer i & 2. Understand and make well-reasoned decisions and tradeoffs in their area; able to work in other areas of the codebase with guidance. Demonstrate knowledge of industry trends, our infrastructure and our build system, tfs, vsts, git and azure. Persistent in the face of roadblocks; dispatches them efficiently, pulling in others as necessaryRequires minimal oversight/direction. Take the initiative to fix issues before assigning themSeek empirical evidence through proofs of concepts, tests and external research. Deliver complex products to qa that they believe are well-baked and bug-free. Review test cases and advise qa on adjacent code/regression impact. Partner with product/business and drive requirements that take into account all parties’ needs. Possess empathy with the user of the software they are producing and use that empathy to guide decision-making. Identify problems/risks of one’s own work and others. Communicates technical decisions through design docs, tech talks, and the wiki. Mentor junior engineers via pairing, design review, and code reviewContributes frequently to lunch & learns and demos. Proactively identify problems with requirements (lack of clarity, inconsistencies, technical limitations) for their own work and adjacent work, and communicate these issues early to help course-correct. Communicate effectively across functions and work well with product, design, analytics, etc., as necessary.
Experience in the following:
What you’ll bring to the table:
3+ years of experience. Excellent problem solving, programming and communication skills. Ability to work quickly and collaboratively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Ability to own small, medium and large well scoped features and implementation. A hands on coding approach to engineering mentorship. A defensive coding mindset with knowledge of owasp.
Nice to have
