Proposal Writer

SeKON is looking for a Proposal Writer with government contracting experience to join our Business Development team. SeKON is headquartered in Reston, VA, but we are open to remote candidates for this opportunity. With over 20 years of experience, SeKON specializes in providing large-scale health IT programs in support of federal government customers including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Defense Health Agency (DHA), and National Institutes of Health (NIH). The ideal candidate would have an excellent understanding and working knowledge of information management, information technology, products, systems, and industry, in the federal sector. The candidate should be a self-starter, under the lifecycle of business development, and work collaboratively with our subject matter experts (SMEs) across our programs and projects to document best practices, solutions, technically review and enhance existing artifacts, white papers, proposals. The candidate will collaborate across our programs and projects including operations in order to support the BD and Growth teams in the composition and submittal of business development artifacts to include proposals. The Technical Writer will report to the Director of BD Operations, yet in a matrixed architecture work across the organization within the capacity of the position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work across the organization including operations to capture domain knowledge as required for BD functions, to include communications.
• Candidate will work with technical SMEs to document functions, knowledge.
• Analyze existing artifacts, enhance and multi-purpose content, focusing on reuse.
• Candidate will take ownership of RFI and SSs responses through reuse of content and interviewing of SMEs.
• Candidate will support the entire lifecycle of BD functions as required, including supporting corporate communications.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Working experience in technical writing in the federal sector
• Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures.
• Excellent written and oral skills in English
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Working experience and understanding of technology, information management, latest trends.
• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred
