About the role:
Our company is seeking an accounts payable and payroll specialist to join our growing organizationThe accounts payable and payroll specialist will be responsible for reviewing and reconciling expenses and bills from the company’s vendors against the corresponding vendor contracts and customer projectsThis individual will develop purchasing guidelines for different departments and ensure purchasing procedures are being followed correctlyThe individual in this role will have responsibility for processing payroll and maintaining the employee database as it relates to compensation and taxes thereofThis role reports directly to the accounting manager.
Managing accounts payable using accounting software and other programs
Reviewing bills, expenses from vendors against services performed/product delivered
Ensuring bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures
Processing bill payments
Comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges
Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries, and reconciling accounts
Establish new workflows for new payroll system
Work with managers to teach how to monitor and approve hourly payrolls
Maintain payroll information by collating, calculating and entering data.
Ensures payroll is paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures.
Calculates payroll liabilities by determining employee taxes, including federal and state income and social security tax, and calculating employer’s payments for social security, unemployment and worker’s compensation.
Resolves payroll discrepancies and answers any employee payroll queries.
Maintain state by state taxation guidelines, payroll filings, unemployment insurance filings
Process payrolls on cycle and off-cycle plus bonus cyclesmonitor company paid holidays, paid time off (pto) banks, leave administration calculations, onboarding and offboarding payroll runs.
Manages payments to sanguine’s phlebotomy staff, usually once per week.
Manage payments to sanguine’s research donors, usually daily.
Establish purchasing processes for various functions and ensure that all purchasing procedures are being followed.
Initiate purchasing guidelines for the company
Aid function managers in placing orders for supplies, products, and services
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
2 years of relevant professional experience in accounting, finance or related field
Exceptional math/analytical skills
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and follow through
Ability to work remotely, independently, and in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills
Must be able to maintain a professional working environment, free from background distractions and noise.
Must have a strong history working ethically and honestly.
Experience working with online banking, accounting software, and customer portals.
Working with pharmaceutical companies, healthcare organizationsworking at a cro (contract research organization)
Working knowledge of microsoft office required (excel, word, etc.)
Experience with netsuite, quickbooks, and bill.com preferred.
Hris payroll - paycor
G-suite experience preferred.
