About the role:
Samsara`s manager of epm is responsible for leading hardware engineering program management from product concept to mass productionIn this role, you will partner with engineers, product managers, and senior management to help ship high quality productsYou`ll be passionate about developing high performance teams, demonstrate a high degree of process ownership and innovation, and want to have fun while we bring the world of physical operations to the cloud.
In this role, you will:
Lead engineering program management – lead a team of epms and take products from concepts to high volume market winners.
Manage program schedules, cost, risks, and execution.
Work cross functionally with product management, engineering, supply chain, and operations to deliver results.
Champion, role model, and embed samsara`s cultural principles (focus on customer success, build for the long term, adopt a growth mindset, be inclusive, win as a team) as we scale globally and across new offices.
Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team.
Minimum requirements for the role:
10+ years of experience shipping high volume hardware programs at scale with odm and jdm partners overseas.
5+ years of management experience with proven ability to mentor and coach team.
Proven record of product development process expertiseAbility to standardize and tailor development process appropriately.
Strong engineering background with preference towards those with ee/me experience.
Ability to quickly understand and communicate tradeoffs between engineering design, manufacturability, schedule, and cost.
Provide input to cross functional strategic decisions.
Bs in relevant technical field e.gEe, me, or cs.
An ideal candidate also has:
Worked as an engineering (ee/me) individual contributor on hardware programs.
Expertise with plm systems for bom and eco management.
