As part of the customer success services team, slack value realization consultants work with account executives, customer success managers, engagement managers, delivery managers, technical architects, enterprise learning leads and other cross-functional teams to execute value realization engagements to large enterprisesThey focus on the customer experience by enabling teams to launch slack successfully against business outcomes, adopt it widely, and drive value based innovation and transformation.
Slack is looking for a creative and passionate individual who can help define business outcome strategy, methodology, conduct business value analysis, and deliver board ready presentations identifying and articulating the value of slack to our top strategic customers post go-live.
You will work closely with our customer success organization along with sales, solutions engineering, and product marketing teamsYou will enhance our value methodology to drive business value propositions for existing customers, resulting in expansions and driving transformational opportunities.
As a cs services value realization consultant, you will have prior experience in management consulting and/or sales aligned strategic servicesYour previous background should include identifying and creating programs of change, comprehension and articulation of business priorities, identifying business improvement opportunities, business case and roadmap creation, including delivery of high-quality presentations presented to c-suite executives in a compelling narrativeYour previous experience in sales will help you work effectively and efficiently within a sales process with our sales teams, proactively manage to a plan and deadlines, and collaborate cross-functionally to lead a team of slack resources.
Candidates with demonstrated experience specifically with slack or salesforce will differentiate themselves for this role.
Conduct discovery to understand current state business processes, business objectives, customer workflows, employee needs and collaboration across an organization
Design future state business processes and user experiences on the slack platform to address previously identified use cases and business objectives
Serve as expert on slack platform (workflow builder, slack connect, etc.) to develop recommendations for increased adoption and maturity
Work closely with existing customers, slack ecosystem, and partners to identify, prioritize, and quantify key business drivers.
Quantify value achieved to date and opportunities for future looking value based transformation.
Leading customers through their digital transformation journey and providing recommendations on key business strategies
Identify target operational and financial metrics impacted by existing and potential solutions and then use these metrics to develop models to quantify the strategic value of slack.
Craft and deliver executive level presentations to cxos
Create qualitative and quantitative analysis in support of targeted expansions.
Validate messaging is aligned with customer value themes
Craft reusable assets to help scale the team`s reach across the greater slack organization
Manage library of assets include items such as spreadsheets, presentation templates, case examples, and customer stories
Deliver innovation & business outcome thought leadership
Assist customers in determining the value of slack’s offerings, including but not limited to how slack accelerates transformation across an enterprise.
Help drive customers towards innovative strategic thinking to drive business results.
Lead customer value realization engagements to assess/measure the quantified business value that slack customers have received after they go live, resulting in a customer- specific recommendations report.
Establish yourself through demonstrated impact – both internally and externally – as the trusted advisor on assigned engagements.
Manage multiple assigned customer value realization engagements at a time.

Digital transformation & innovation ; this individual must have a passion for cloud technology and innovation, and how it can be used in digital transformation to help customers innovate.
Leadership & engagement management ; this individual is a self-starter that operates independently with little supervision, and has solid planning, organization, critical thinking, decision-making and communication (verbal and written) skillsThe individual leads a cross-functional customer team towards common goals and objectives and can operationally organize the team, with regular cadence calls and status reports.
Financial quantification of business benefits ; this individual must be able to conduct live, in-person customer workshops to imagine and negotiate benefits and benefit improvements relevant to the customer’s businessThe individual must be able to develop value based assets including baseline metrics identification, value realization plans, and fully quantified business cases that include benefits, costs, an internal rate of return (irr), a net present value (npv) and a payback period that is representative of the customer situation and that leverages their input and data.
Solutioning & road-mapping ; this individual must be able to identify, group and prioritize business opportunities and map them into high-level solution components from slack’s cloud applications and build out a strategic roadmap.
Artifact creation & delivery ; this individual has a demonstrated track record of creating and delivering high quality, high fidelity customer assets on a scheduleThe individual can comfortably stand and deliver to an executive, c-suite audience.
Listening & professionalism ; this individual could take in customer feedback, including potentially sensitive inquiries and issues, and respond diplomaticallyThe individual has a high degree of demonstrated maturity, tactfulness and business ethics.
Flexibility and adaptability ; this individual can cope with a sometimes ambiguous and changing environment and must have an unfailing sense of humor.
Minimum five (5) or more years of professional experience
Role-specific experience, either:
3+ years in management consulting and/or business consulting in top tier management consulting providers, and/or
3+ years in enterprise cloud/software strategic pre-sales services such as customer success, value engineering, strategy or architecture services
Industry experience ; priority will be given to candidates with industry experience in the following:
Financial services – banking, insurance and capital markets
Media and entertainment
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.gBusiness, finance, economics, math, engineering, marketing, or related areas) or equivalent experience
