Safelyyou is an extremely mission-driven company that raised $60m in 2021 through series a and series b financing and is now rapidly scalingOur company spun out of the uc berkeley ai research lab and develops artificial intelligence to support care for those with alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and other cognitive impairmentsAlzheimer’s disease is the single most expensive disease in the us, costing an estimated $600b per year in direct and indirect costsIt affects 1 in 3 people over 85 and 1 in 9 people over 65Our first product is focused on reducing the frequency and impact of falls, the leading cause of hospitalization for those living with dementiaWe have peer-reviewed results showing up to 80% fewer falls with an average of 40% fewer falls and 80% fewer er visits from fallsWe`ve raised capital from top vc firms, including founders fund, eclipse, foundation capital, and data collective, and the largest providers in the space are actively using, expanding, and evangelizing the serviceWe have also been awarded grants from the national institutes of health and the national science foundation, given the national importance of the issue – as the population continues to age, the global costs of alzheimer’s and dementia are expected to double over the next 10 yearsWith fewer and fewer young people available to provide the care needed, we must find a way for technology to bridge the gap.
We are looking for an experienced srDesigner to join our growing marketing teamThis creative, artistic individual will partner on the concepting and creative execution of safelyyou’s brand and promotional marketing and other materials in support of our business goalsYou will work closely with the team to understand our company mission, brand, and target audiences and personas to develop engaging, effective campaigns and assets for use across multiple channels and in a variety of mediaYou have an exceptional sense of design and style combined with your talent for art and copy layout to create impactful deliverables - both print (brochures to events and more) and digital (static to video).
Your role at safelyyou
Partner with the content strategist, communications manager, and other team members as required to conceive and implement overall creative guidelines, generate innovative concepts, themes, and campaigns, and produce targeted, results-driven creative deliverables
Collaborate with marketing team and cross-functional internal partners to understand and define project requirements including objectives and key results, audience, intended messaging and cta(s), and timing
Create original visual content that communicates the desired feeling, message, and action in an engaging and unified way through use of graphics, illustration, and stock photography, as appropriate; and may include custom drawings, illustration or photography, potentially conducting video or photo shoots, as needed
Produce design concepts for review and approval, followed by rounds of revisions to get to the desired final deliverables as efficiently and effectively as possible
Recommend process improvements, new approaches, themes, channels, and assets, as appropriate
Prepare design materials and assembly instructions on notification of final approval for print or digital production
Keep up with industry and design trends
Performs other related design duties for the company as assigned
The ideal candidate
Bachelor`s degree with major or significant coursework in art, graphic design, or related disciplines highly preferred with a strong portfolio of completed, results-oriented design projects
At least five years of related work experience across a wide variety of media and channels including, but not limited to social media posts and videos, branded websites, promotional emails and newsletters, whitepapers, case studies, and guides, webinar/educational experiences, event booths and materials, and more
Deep understanding of visual design principles and user experience
Experience managing photo and video shoots a plus along with some video editing capabilities to supplement as needed and/or ability to oversee external partners for video production and editing
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient with design tools (adobe creative suite, etc.), google suite, microsoft office suite, and other technology such as communication (slack) and project management (monday.com) software
Organized with attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a member of a dedicated team or partnering with agencies or outside vendors
Previous experience in the healthcare space a plus, senior care, even better
Creative, fun contributor, ready to join a team of like-minded peers
Able to jump into a fast-moving environment and work and collaborate effectively remotely
