About the opportunity: the software engineer is key member of an agile development team contributing to our payroll product.
Duties and responsibilities:

Designing software system architecture.
Completing data structures and design patterns.
Designing and implementing scalable web services, applications, and apis.
Developing and maintaining internal software tools.
Writing low-level and high-level code.
Troubleshooting and bug fixing.
Identifying bottlenecks and improving software efficiency.
Collaborating with the design team on developing micro-services.
Writing technical documents.
Provides significant contributions to the brand-new codebase
Help coordinate development efforts between the in house, onshore team and the offshore dev teams
Provide technical guidance to more junior team members as needed
Help translate business goals into actionable code
Meet strategic and tactical development and architecture goals as defined by the team
Requirements: knowledge, skills and abilities:
Must be self-starter, independent, motivated, detail and quality oriented, proud of the product(s) he/she develops, and a real team player
We are an agile shop, both in our sldc and our thinking, and you should be as well
Top notch written and verbal communications skills.
Education and experience:

Bs in computer science, engineering or other relevant stem degree, masters preferred
At least 5+ years of previous experience as a software engineer developing products.
Advanced knowledge of languages including visual studio .net, vb.net, c#
Knowledge of database systems and ms sql, stored procedures.
Advanced troubleshooting skills.
Good communication skills.
High-level project management skills.
Sound knowledge of saas platforms
Experience developing software products in with azure/aws using git, vsts.
Experience in building payroll or hcm products is a plus
