The rpa developer is responsible for developing robotic process automation (rpa) and software programs or systems that align with user needsThis person will report to the rpa development team lead and will work very closely with business analysts, project managers, as well as technical colleagues, to ensure that the desired product is achievedThe software engineer will work in a team setting, utilizing agile methodologies and rituals.
Rpa developers use an analytical, engineering-focused approach and expert technical knowledge and strategies to develop rpa and computer programs, ensuring that software is as functional, high-quality and robust as the client or consumer needsThey often have the following specific responsibilities:
Analyze the needs of the user using business requirements documents and technical requirement
Documents, with collaboration with sme and business analysts
Design, test and develop rpa or software to meet business needs
Participate in scrum, sprint planning and retrospective meetings
Recommend upgrades for existing systems and programs
Maintain existing infrastructure, robots and software
Ensure continued functionality of a program during maintenance and testing of software
Document, create and maintain technical design documents for future upgrades and maintenance
Identify and fix bugs per customer specifications and system requirements
Other duties as assigned
Software engineers use a variety of technical skills, soft skills and industry knowledge to develop applications and systems, including:
Using analysis and critical thinking skills to determine and assess the needs of the user and then create software to meet the requirements
Providing clear instructions to the project team, clearly explaining how the software works to the customer and being available to answer any questions that may arise using exceptional communication skills
Applying keen attention to detail and organization to work on numerous parts of a system or application at the same time while being accurate and thorough
Working well with others on the team of project managers, business analysts, developers and programmers using effective interpersonal skills
Being able to efficiently identify and resolve issues that arise during the design, testing and maintenance processes using problem-solving skills
Bachelor`s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in a related field
3+ years of software development, using .net programming (c# and/or vb, asp, ms sql)
Excellent knowledge of the software development life cycle
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Experience with agile and scrum development methodologies
Ability to learn quickly and work independently or as part of a team
Rpa development knowledge (with automation anywhere, blue prism or uipath)
