Role: general manager
Our client is looking for someone to lead the business development, product strategy, and implementation of our api product, which provides the most reliable source for medicare plan information to partner companiesReporting to their co-founder & ceo, you will identify target customers, develop pricing models, negotiate contracts, prioritize product features, and drive the successful growth of our api product and businessYou are equally comfortable prioritizing product requirements as you are speaking with senior executives and developing sales strategy.
This role requires a high ownership-orientation and has responsibilities that are significantly broader than a typical product or bd roleWe prefer that this role be based in new york with the ability to travel ~1-2 weeks every 2 months.
Grow our api business by leading all sales and product strategy
Conduct market research to understand where there are gaps that we can and should fill
Create and execute a sales strategy to find and onboard customers that can use our api
Pitch executives at potential customers and negotiate contracts that are mutually accretive
Work closely with our engineers to build new api features that drive growth
3-10 years experience in product and bd/sales for business-to-business, data-driven products
Exceptional aptitude at defining both high-level objectives and the granular steps required to achieve those objectivesThis means you have an excitement to shape strategy and an equal desire to execute end-to-end on that vision
Ownership orientation: you are excited to set goals and have ownership for hitting those goals with a team committed to our collective success
Ability to conduct cold outreach and to create compelling pitches for a variety of stakeholders
