Founded in 2009, our team has grown steadily over the last several years with the release of new products and a widening base of both enterprise customers and open-source usersWe are a remote-first organization of ~240 people, distributed across the united states, canada, uk, australia, and europe, and we hope to expand by another 50-60% in the next yearTo ensure that we can continue to support our team, and enrich our commitment to our values while we grow, we are seeking to hire a director, people operations team to lead our employee relations, manager support, and talent management practicesThis role will join a team of 8-12 people operations colleagues in recruiting, compensation, payroll and benefits, and will manage a people partner role (tbh in 2022)This position will report to the vp, people operations (executive team member).
What you’ll own:
Employee relations: lead our practice in performance plan coaching, workplace issue resolution, employee consultation, legal compliance, and respectful workplace practices.
Management coaching: build trusted partnerships with managers and leaders (50+ below exec level) that enable productive collaborative work on organizational development, team building, and leadership effectiveness across our various functions and teams
Talent management: identify development needs of our emerging talent, and design/implement learning or experiential solutions that accelerate and support their career growthBuild processes for ongoing talent development that balance equitable access to opportunity with the need to provide personal, meaningful growth opportunities for individuals.
Building our people partner team: hire and develop future rstudio people partners to meet the needs of a rapidly growing company.
What you’ll help with:
Diversity, equity, and inclusion: along with vp, people operations and our internal dei council leaders, contribute to our goal of maintaining an inclusive environment for all, and applying a diversity lens to all of our people and business practices.
Organization design and change management: bring your hr expertise to discussions and decisions about team and function scaling, internal talent mobility, international expansion, and the impact of growth and change on our people and our company success
Compensation and career frameworks: collaborate with our compensation and analytics lead to apply compensation practices and frameworks that support greater pay transparency and clarity about job and career progressionConsult with managers on job design and hiring profiles that meet business needs while offering rich, well-defined role opportunities.
