We want to help our customers with strategies that focus on delivering intelligent, connected machines and applications that will revolutionize off-highway mobile equipmentOur customers want to offer electric options within many of their product familiesElectrified equipment can benefit customers through fuel savings, increased environmental sustainability, greater durability and higher productivityAlso, we want to help them deliver fully autonomous, battery-powered electric equipment to the marketTo align to these goals, we are looking for engineers with experience with the electrification of on-highway or off-highway mobile equipment with various specific roles based on the following potential descriptions and requirements.
Define common electric drivetrain architectures that best serve the various electric drive system architectures (battery-electric, engine-electric, hybrid, etc.).
Work with platform engineers to define, develop and gain approval of requirements for electric drive systems, including performance, function, environmental, design life and duty cycles.
Develop traceable and high-fidelity performance requirements based on simulation, lab testing and vehicle testing.
Define requirements for functional logic and control algorithms for implementation on power electronics and vehicle controllers.
Design electric drive systems as a combination of power generation, batteries, actuators, sensors, communication, power distribution and configurable parameters to meet system requirements.
Potential duties include:
Act as technical expert for electrification standard development.
Lead multiple electric drive projects in support of product lines.
Act as subject matter expert for system engineering, including system engineering tools/processes, as well as requirements development and management tools/processes.
