The role
A civil engineer is an exciting, challenging, and rewarding role at questYou will have an opportunity to interact with customer and their power generation plants to develop optimized design for hvdc substation layouts that integrate all the required equipment considering their installation, operation, and maintenance constraintsIn addition to this, you will be working to define requirements for procurement of project equipmentIt is not only a challenging role but also an extremely fulfilling for those with the right disposition to engage and delight customers.

Job functions
You will need strong domain knowledge to support conversion of project contractual documents into plant engineering requirements.
You will need engineering and budgeting skills to support plant engineering planning and cost estimation for the project.
You should have required skills to design optimized substation & buildings layouts integrating all the required equipment considering their installation, operation, and maintenance constraints.
You will need to be proficient in delivering substation & buildings general arrangements and civil guides as per project planning.
You will need experience in producing procurement inquiry packages for project equipment (e.gHv post insulators, conductors & connectors, etc.) including defining their requirements.
You should have strong organizational skills in order to support answers to client, partners & suppliers technical queries related to plant engineering.
You will need good presentation skills to support projects design and gate reviews.
You will need experience with solution development to support continuous improvement within plant engineering discipline.
Qualifications

You have an engineering degree in mechanical, electrical, civil or related field.
You have a strong knowledge on high voltage substation international standards & guidelines (iec, igre…) and related equipment.
You are proficient with autodesk cad tools revit & navisworks.
You have a good understanding of onshore civil engineering and offshore platform design and requirements.
You have basic knowledge on contract and project management, engineering, procurement and construction (epc), or engineering equipment package (eep) type.
You have experience in substation design, hvdc or ac, layout design, electrical design for substation, and revit exposure.
You are analytical person with rigorous and commitment.
You are a professional with english spoken and written skills.
Location: remote (with limited travel to new england region, usa sites)
Travel: minimal, <10%
Compensation type: salary exempt with a competitive package dependent on level of experience
