Director of sales
Job description summary:
The director of sales is responsible for managing and overseeing the sales operations across the organizationWe are looking for a highly motivated, energetic sales leader who can build both outbound and inbound sales pipelinesThis person will be selling training and consulting services to customers ranging from start-ups to the world’s leading brandsThe ideal candidate would have experience selling service-based products ideally in the training and consulting field.
In this role, you will need to design strategic plans to meet set sales targets, develop processes from the ground up, and ultimately build the sales organization for scalabilityThis role will also manage the inbound and outbound sales strategies from concept to executionThe ideal candidate must have a high ability to develop and cultivate relationships with clients to evaluate their needs and determine the right product fitExperience in a fast-paced startup environment and the ability to work both tactically and strategically is a must.
This role will report directly to the vp of operations
Responsibilities: top 20%
1Prospecting and closing sales aDrive outbound sales & leads bConvert inbound leads cBuild and maintain a sales crm (hubspot) to exceed sales targets
2Build and lead a sales organization aWork with and across the organization to drive leads, to convert opportunities and to grow accounts bAs we scale, the ability to recruit, train and lead sales representatives
3Create and define a sales strategy, process and tactics aImprove & build the systems and processes that scale with the organization with the right set of sales enablement tools bTurn vision into action by working directly with our president & co-founder to assume sales responsibilities4Communication & networking aEffectively communicate value propositions verbally, through presentations, and through proposals bUnderstand industry verticals, build and maintain relationships with accounts and customers to grow new and existing customer accounts cLeverage internal & external relationships to get connected with decision-makers
Regular work activities: other 80%
1Continuous improvement to crm (hubspot)
2Work with the director of marketing to increase lead conversion through enhanced sales messaging across all social channels and the website.
3Build scorecards and data sets to improve key business metrics4Identify and cultivate business development opportunities
Experience and qualifications
Minimum 10+ years experience in building, leading, and mentoring a high performing sales organization
Degree in marketing, business, or related field proficient in google suite & microsoft office suite (word, excel, etc) experienced in using crm (hubspot is a plus) has ability to balance both inbound and outbound lead generation strategies has a mixture of startup and enterprise experience has knowledge and experience in training and consulting products *demonstrated ability to engage and build relationships at the ceo, evp, svp, vp level of a
Fortune 500 organization* demonstrated ability to generate, shape, and close deals with seven-figure total contract values has strong communication skills both written and verbal has the ability to process various data, learnings, and research before passing the most important and actionable insights on to leadership has a high level of executive presence and is comfortable presenting to a client or a room full of peers *maintains the highest standards of operational excellence
