Zalkin is looking for a regional sales manager in the ne united states territoryThe successful candidate will demonstrate an entrepreneurial attitude and intellectually curious mindset combined with the appropriate process orientation, analytical skills, sharp focus and a willingness to embrace changeThey will be a self-motivated professional with a strong desire to achieve personal and professional growthThe position reports to the vp of sales and marketing at zalkin.
Prospect, develop, and follow up on new accounts and maintain existing account relations in an ethical and profitable manner.
Promote and sell zalkin capping machinery, solutions, capabilities, spare parts, service, and support and establish plans and strategies to expand the customer baseThis includes development and execution of a regional penetration plan.
Perform lead generating activities, i.eProspect, visit, call, email, attend conferences and trade shows, network within the industries, etc.
Follow up on company-supplied leads in less than 24 hours
Use salesforce.com crm to document all sales activity and to update opportunity status throughout the sales cycle
Keep management informed about orders closing within the next 90 days
Work closely with customers to ensure the meeting of all goals, objectives, and customer satisfaction
Team with company sales agents to increase sales and provide advice on ways to improve sales performance
Manage agent(s) in the territory if applicable
Develop and communicate sales reports within zalkin and promach
Provide collaborative sales assistance to other company sales professionals within promach
Prepare and present sales proposals and negotiate contracts
Achieve annual sales goals as outlined by leadership
Develop and attend training and meetings as required by leadership
Stay abreast of new technology, market developments, appropriate standard societies, and competitor offerings and keep current on trends from both market and technical standpoints
Work cross-functionally across the enterprise to identify key influencers, define gaps in products or services, and develop and implement the necessary tools to capitalize on opportunities
Who we’re looking for?
Bachelor’s or technical degree (engineering/technical preferred - not mandatory).
Packaging, capital equipment, engineered manufacturing system/equipment background/experience, knowledge of capping/filling/packaging industries and applications preferred.
3+ years proven sales experience.
Crm experience, salesforce.com preferred.
Ability to identify customer needs and match their requirements with company product/solution/services; adaptable and open to change regarding customer solutions and internal company business plan; able to use benchmarking as well as direct experience as a catalyst to drive change and a spirit of continuous improvement.
Strong written/verbal communication and organizational skills.
Ability to travel at least 50% of the time.
