Summary
The geared turbofan (gtf) maintenance repair & overhaul (mro) operations team is chartered to ramp-up global capability and capacity for engine overhaul and component repairAccelerating the expansion of network repair suppliers, their readiness and capacity, is critical to supporting growth.
We are looking to expand the core team of engineering industrialization project managers who are responsible for supporting this initiative while optimizing the component repair network’s required technical capability and capacity to support our engine overhaul commitments.
The person in this position may have the flexibility to work remotely, and will work closely with a broad set of organizations and support the teams with these key activities:
Pw focal point for gtf mro partners and external repair facilities to ensure production readiness, capability, and capacity across all gtf engine programs
Support the expansion of engine center (dat) backshop repair capability and special processes when applicable
Support execution of action plans developed from the new repair demand vsCapacity siop analyses, high-cost driver (hcd) reduction efforts, and other key program initiatives
Develop, coordinate, and execute multiple technical and production readiness plans simultaneously
Provide technical support and guidance to assist repair facilities with new repair development processes and source qualification (rsa) on various products and processes
Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines and product development teams to support solutions to new distress modes
Transition technology and leverage best practices and methods across mro facilities as applicable
Establish and document applicable standard work, gated processes, and metrics
Travel may be required domestically and/or internationally up to 10%
Basic qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline and a minimum of 5+ years of experience in product or process engineering within an mro or oem manufacturing facility; or advanced degree and 3+ years of relevant experience
Two or more years of project management experience
Us citizenship required due to government contracts
Must have or be willing to obtain a valid us passport; travel may be required domestically and/or internationally up to 10%
Preferred qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering preferred
Pmp or project management certification preferred
Process or manufacturing experience, hands-on assembly/disassembly experience on gas-turbine engines, operational experience, and/or production management in an mro facility
Highly motivated, high-energy self-starter with a strong desire to succeed
Proficient with the microsoft office suite
Strong leadership skills, analytical thinking, and strong customer focus
