About the position, as the director, field operations, you will be centered on hub wide systems, collaboration, support, and culture with a focus on impact strategy, program quality, team health, professional development, and organizational administrative successThis role is both strategic and tactical in nature, working closely with hub leadership, as well as regional impact team leadership and staff to develop and support systems that ensure hub wide efficacy and strong program quality.
The director, field operations manages two roles, the hub-wide role of the operations manager serving the in, il, wi hub and the operations manager serving the ne and mn hubThe director, field operations will be managed by one vice president of field operations with a dotted line reporting to another, providing both with support on hub-wide strategy and initiatives.
Specifically, this role will have the following responsibilities:
Impact quality 60%
Responsible for reaching and maintaining high quality services through partnering with regional leadership to build and support staff`s quality action plans and the collection and assessment of data.
Visit regional services to observe, assess, and help build action plans for improvements.
Creation of systems within regions and across hubs to ensure alignment and sharing of resources, best practices, and efficiencies.
Build meeting and communication structures within hubs or across hubs for impact support.
Support regional impact staff in the hiring, training, and ongoing professional development of impact staff.
Lead on certification of trainers.
Create new resources to support impact team with successful implementation of all programs (i.eSales sheets, decks, training outlines, curriculum updates)
In partnership with regional leadership, build strategies for impact growth which could include adding/changing services in regions or providing services in areas outside of currently served geographies.
Serve as quality representative for the hubs on the national program quality team.
Operational support and hub engagement 40%
Direct support for two vice presidents (willin and snow limits), field operations, for specific initiatives and projects.
Access and provide weekly reports to regional staff on organizational health metrics across the three pillars including revenue, partnerships, collections, and enps.
Responsible for assessing quarterly team health data and creating action plans for improvement.
Facilitate hub meetings and structure, professional development opportunities, retreats, etcTo review key metrics, strengthen teams and build community.
Manage two hub operation managersHub operations managers support the implementation of administrative related activities for playworks services including recruitment and onboarding, americorps compliance, data collection, scheduling, ap/ar support, etc.
Required skills & experience
Bachelor`s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education in organizational leadership, non-profit management, leadership or related field.
At least 5 years of relevant and successful supervisory and management experience.
Significant experience implementing and managing high quality impact programs.
Commitment to centering equity.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to build rapport and effectively communicate with local and remote teams up, down and across the organization.
Experience assessing data and using it to implement action plans.
Passionate commitment to playworks` mission and youth development approach.
Creative self-starter with an ability to devise solutions and drive consensus for complex problems.
Experience developing and implementing goals, objectives and strategic plans
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
Ability to drive results and accountability with local and remote teams; ability to thrive working both independently and within team settings
Exceptional leadership, relationship management and interpersonal skills.
