About painscan:
Painscan is a funded startup building a system to allow doctors, patients and researchers to measure, map and visualize chronic painWe’re an ambitious team focused on the $83b chronic pain marketWe’re looking for motivated candidates who are ready to share their expertise, create and collaborateWe have a flexible and remote team, so working remotely will be fine.
Our system includes integration of various components, including a clinician glove with pressure sensors, camera/computer vision system, and pain intensity acquisition via various devices.
We have received an nsf phase i sbir and anticipate receiving additional nsf and nih grants as well as other fundingWe will begin using our painscan system and generating revenue later this year.

Your role will include:
Utilize your experience creating 3d human meshes that match actual humans (ideally produced via realtime images/video)
This application requires the use of both computer vision techniques as well as machine learning methodsIdeal candidates will have extensive experience in one domain, or a mix of experiences in both domains.
Ideal candidates will have experience with human mesh recovery (hmr) and skinned multi-person linear model (smpl) and/or variants thereof
Candidates must have experience in developing with object-oriented software with c++, python or similar
Work closely with a small team of software and mechanical engineers to develop an image-based software application
Help build out the software platform, which will include aggregation of images and data from multiple sources, and 3d visualization of results.

Required qualifications
Bachelor`s degree (or equivalent training/experience) in computer science, mechanical/electrical engineering, or similar
Extensive project experience in c++, python, or other object-oriented language
At least one year of industry experience, or relevant internships, focused on computer vision
Experience working with computer vision hardware, libraries (such as opencv), and algorithms
Understanding of data structures and best programming practices
Idea generation and execution
Hands-on focus, strong debugging, and system analysis skills
Desired qualifications
Experience with computer vision systems, including camera selection and configuration
Experience with depth vision or motion capture systems (e.g., intel realsense cameras)
Expert in python and c++
Experience with javascript frameworks (e.g., vue, react)
Experience developing production code and contributing to production code bases (using git/github)
Application development using machine learning (e.g., tensorflow) techniques for image-based datasets
Experience building multi-threaded and/or real-time systems
Knowledge of classical robotics theory and coordinate transformations
Experience with relational databases (e.g., postgres, mssql, mysql)
Familiarity with both windows and linux operating systems
You must be able to and enjoy writing clean, secure code that your current and future teammates will enjoying working withReading documentation, continual testing, and eagerness to have your colleagues test your code must be part of your dna as well.
