Jered has open positions for motivated mechanical project engineers in the naval defense industryHere at jered we design and build the mission critical non-combat systems that keep our navy moving forwardBe a part of an established engineering team where you can further develop your skills in project engineering, systems engineering, mechanical design, in a collaborative team environment.
Jered has been designing, building, and supporting products on every combat ship in the navy for more than 40 years with many years of work ahead of usOur core products are electric, hydraulic, and pneumatic mechanical systems on combat naval shipsOur engineering team is critical every step of the way from concept, to proposal, to design, to in house fabrication and assembly support, to shipboard commissioning, and beyond with lifelong product supportJered offers a unique opportunity to have total ownership of a product see it through all phases of development and release.

Essential qualifications
Us citizen or green card holder.
Drug free.
Bs degree in mechanical engineering or similar engineering discipline.
5 years’ design experience with industrial or marine equipment.
3 years’ experience managing engineering projects.
Proficient in 2d and 3d modeling softwareSolidworks, autocad, fea.
Proficient in ms office suite (word/excel/outlook).
Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to travel as required (typically 5%).
Preferred qualifications
Experience with military/navy standards, specifications, and requirements.
Professional engineers (pe) license.
Ms in engineering and/or mba and/or 10 or more years of experience in designing industrial or marine equipment.
Experience managing and executing complex engineering projects.
Design experience in electrohydraulic or electromechanical systems and/or military/navy programs.
Supervisory responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
