Leads the supply planning for the owens & minor medical distribution organizationLeads the supplier‐facing supply chain organization supporting sales and supply chain operations, developing supply plans and buying strategies to optimize on time/fill rate performance, inventory optimization, and supplier capacity utilizationLeads content creation supporting supply reviews as part of the s&op/ibp process, presenting the supply plan, its assumptions, drivers, and risksDevelops supply‐based unit and inventory plans to compare against annual business plans and financial forecast updates, as well as collaborative processes to gain alignmentDevelops and monitors process metrics to drive process conformance, problem solving, and improvementLeads and coordinates special programs, emergency responses, and other supplier‐focused projects.
Develops and executes an effective and clear supply planning strategy for the owens & minor medical distribution organization.
Manages a high‐performing team overseeing all aspects of supply planning.
Ensures sales and operations planning (s&op) processes for supply review meetings are in place and adhered to, delivering the business plan with operational excellenceOwns the process for delivering aligned plans for the supply/inventory plan, and supporting the management business review.
Optimizes inventory levels, inbound and outbound flow, and replenishment team structure to support customer performance and company kpis.
Leads the replenishment team on inventory purchase strategy and workflow prioritizationProvides training and guidance on use of advance planning technology to achieve optimal performance
Executes new customer and supplier on‐boarding processes, ensuring service levels and fill rates are attained.
Manages excess inventory in partnership with relevant stakeholders (operations, sales, supplier relations, etc.), ensuring inventory optimization across the network, reducing expiry, increasing service levels, and maximizing inventory sell through.
Develops and maintains purchasing schedules and prioritizes the delivery schedule to satisfy customer service levels and customer requirements.
Reviews supplier capacity data and adjusts the short‐term delivery schedules to optimize service and turns.
Drives, implements, and supports supply chain initiatives across the enterprise to enable speed, flexibility, and risk‐reduction.
Leads and supports sustainable process improvement, diagnosing complex business problems and providing recommended plans to deliver process improvements through the implementation of lean six sigma principles.
Serves in a strategic inventory/supplier planning capacity, assisting in the overall improvement of service levels and inventory efficiencies.
Bachelors degree required; concentration in supply chain, inventory management, operations research, it or related field preferred
13 or more years of supply chain, inventory, or information technology experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment
6 or more years of diversified supply chain or it leadership, planning, communication, organization, and people management experience.
Systems development, pharmaceutical/healthcare business applications, and project management experience required
Or any combination of education and experience to meet the above requirements
Previous experience using demand/supply planning solutions, blue yonder (jda) preferred
Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with multiple audiences (senior management, corporate/ distribution center teammates, etc.)
Proven project management experience in facilitating the definition of business requirements and designing and implementing solutions, including processes and managing change
Ability to work effectively with many and varied third party vendors
Ability to act as a visionary, capable of identifying emerging technologies and successfully apply them to critical business problems
Demonstrated analytical skills with strong statistical awareness along with the ability to make and act on decisions with limited information
Ability to manage large teams across multiple technology related disciplines
Ability to travel up to 25%
