Full job description
Ofm, an industry leader in workplace furnishings, and a top brand in the hni corporation enterprise, is in search of a project engineer to join our team based in holly springs, nc! this is a remote based position.
What you`ll do:
The project engineer plans, organizes, and controls an assigned new product development (npd) project from approved new product business case through production readinessThis member is responsible for the overall success of their project’s management, execution, communication to the greater organization, ensuring project budget and delivery are within project guidelines, and team is adhering to the npd process.
What you have:
Understanding of the the business case, define product specifications (including dimensional, performance, and visual specifications), and then manages those specifications as they relate to product management, quality, operations, and supplier relations.
Manage all aspects of assigned projects through the npd process from approved business case through production readiness.
Create new test plans to ensure product will be compliant with applicable industry standards and product specifications and performs product reliability testing to ensure continued compliance.
Monitor quality and design issues and resolves issues to reduce customer pain points.
Lead and contribute to rapid continuous improvement to ensure proper implementation of quality improvements, cost reduction projects and process improvements.
Partner with producing locations to run production pilots and to ensure production readiness.
Participate in activities as appropriate to ensure the success of the organization.
What you`re good at:
Bachelors’ degree in engineering
3 – 5 years of engineering experience, with exposure to product lifecycle management activities such as new product development, costing saving, quality improvement
Excellent coordination and project management skillsets, demonstrated capabilities managing multiple projects at once
Good communication skills at all levels within the organization
Ability to drive projects to completion
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision.
