The director, healthcare association engagement and innovation will lead both strategy and engagement with key healthcare association stakeholders towards novartis objectives that improve patient care by enhancing innovation among key healthcare association stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include:
External strategic stakeholder engagement – build trusting relationships with key senior stakeholders at medical societies, healthcare associations, and other external organizationsMaintain pulse on the healthcare industry and trends among key external groups to identify opportunities to collaborate on common objectives to improve patient outcomesAct as the primary point of contact for defined organizations and coordinator of all interactions.
Strategy development/execution – partner with medical unit heads and other senior internal leaders to develop and execute engagement planDrive collaboration and manage relationships among numerous cross-functional teams in a highly matrixed organization.
Partnership/program development – collaboratively develop programs and initiatives consistent with defined strategyDefine program budgets in partnership with operations and finance.
Drive innovation/process improvement – contribute to overall functioning of external relationships coe through contributing external stakeholder considerations to process improvement initiativesLeverage digital capabilities to drive impact and efficienciesCollaborate to establish and track impact metrics.

Bachelors or equivalent 4-year university degree required.
Advanced degree (pharmd, phd, etc.) preferred
Association engagement or account management experience strongly preferred.
7 years in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry required.
Program development experience preferred.
Cardiovascular therapeutic area experience preferred.
Prior experience working in healthcare/medical society is desirable
Strong healthcare industry knowledge required
Knowledge of healthcare industry and company guidelines and policies required
Strong knowledge of the drug development process required
Prior experience in healthcare setting (patient care, payer, insurance, etc.) preferred
Proven ability to build productive relationships and teams internally and externally.
Ability to strategize, conceptualize, and inspire to drive transformative change for large scale initiatives
Tenacity and energy to lead change
High tolerance for ambiguity and willingness to adapt to change
Exceptional organizational skills as well as a track record of finding solutions with minimal direction
Proven ability to work, independently, with external organizations towards achieving results.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
Up to 60% travel expected (once covid-19 nvs rules allow)
Location is remote.
