Northrop grumman corporation is currently seeking a mechanical manufacturing engineer to join our team for nasa’s sls (space launch system) in our kennedy space center, florida location.
Description & responsibilities:
The sls manufacturing engineer is responsible for plan authoring, conducting tests, problem resolution, resource identification, and mbom managementThe role includes coordinating the efforts of operations, design engineering, quality engineering, program management, and material planners.
Job duties:
Creation and maintenance of shop floor planning
Identification and resolution of inefficiencies
Identification of needed materials, tools, and training
Managing the manufacturing bill of materials (mbom)
Conduct readiness reviews prior to operations start
Implementation of mrb instructions
Support operations during critical processes
Incorporate lessons learned into future plans
Lead/support fluid systems hardware and avionics systems functional tests
Skills
Experience in launch vehicle mechanical/electrical/fluid systems production.
Self-directed
Detail oriented
Aptitude for rapid learning
Excellent communication skills
Ability to solve complex problems
Experience requirements:
Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering experience
Bachelor of science degree in engineering
Experience preferred:
Hands on experience with solid rocket booster or other aerospace mechanical fluid and electrical systems.
Computer skills including microsoft suite, erp, and production planning software.
Education/certifications
Bs/ms degree in mechanical, electrical, or aerospace, engineering or related field required.
2 years’ experience with bs, 0 years of experience with ms
Position can be filled one level higher, bs & 5 years or ms & 3 years
Salary range: $70,600 usd - $105,800 usd salary range 2: $87,400 usd - $131,200 usd
