Essential job duties nc state faculty from the departments of agricultural & human sciences and teacher education & learning sciences are looking for an nc state undergraduate student to serve as a co-producer/co-host for the extension program #passthemicyouth (#ptmy), a youth-led, youth-centered podcast and blog aimed at amplifying youth voices, shining a spotlight on youth activism, and providing educators with resources to develop critical consciousnessThis is a paid hourly positionThe location is remote.
We are especially interested in someone with experience in audio editingFirst and second year undergraduate students are encouraged to apply.
Hosted and produced by nc state undergraduate students, #ptmy produces content that is grounded in social justice and highlights the contributions of young peopleArchived podcasts and blog articles are available on #ptmy’s website, accompanied by corresponding discussion questions that educators can use to generate further dialogueThe website also features resources for fostering self-reflection, personal storytelling skills, and a critical understanding of social justice issuesIn addition, we are in the process of developing curricula that integrate content from the podcast and blogThe potential to review and/or facilitate aspects of curricula exist and can be exploredAdditional information, including podcast episodes and blog posts, can be found on our website, www.passthemicyouth.com about #passthemicyouth podcast #passthemicyouth is a youth-led, youth-centered podcast and blog that amplifies the voices and experiences of young people, shines a spotlight on youth activism, and provides educators and youth-serving professionals with resources to develop critical consciousnessAdditional information about the program can be found at the #passthemicyouth website.
Co-host the podcast series (resources and equipment provided)
Edit podcast episodes using adobe audition/be willing to learn how to edit the podcast adobe audit
Assist with social media marketing and management
Assist with recruitment of guests to feature on the podcast
Assist with writing blog posts
Assist with writing questions for extended dialogue for corresponding blog posts and podcast episodes
Other duties as they relate to maintaining the podcast up and running
